kitten names needed

I can't remember the name. A pair of pants, with no person in them, running about in the woods. It gave me the horrors as a kid--the good kind of horrors; which is really just a recognition of the numinous.

I'll have to look for it at work. We have every Dr S book known to man, I think..

Dr's Suess wrote an evil pants book? Which one was that?

It's called "What Was I Scared Of" and it's in the book "Sneetches and Other Stories"

"In this story, there is a pair of pale green pants which has no one inside of it. The main character is afraid of them, but only because he never bothered to find out about them... what they were about. In fact, the empty green pants are just as afraid of him as he is of them! When they both realize they are pretty much the same, once you stood face to face with the other." Quote from a review on Amazon.com

I have two kittens we haven't named yet, a dark male tabby and a lighter, silvery tabby female.

The male is very sweet and friendly and awfully affectionate. He has big wide eyes so my husband has suggested naming him Boo. I'm undecided on that.

The female is more aloof than the male, but still fairly friendly. Names like Silver and Misty are already taken so I can't name her either of those.

Ideas, anyone?

Have you named your kitten yet?

Roxy's a nice name...

Or the sinister one about the the pants

I remember that one ... it's hysterical (or at least, I always thought it was ... LOL, maybe I'm just demented :D )

So are the kittens named yet? We finally named our puppy Chaos ... and I have this great need to pronounce it how it is spelled, hehehe

IMHO, the end is just a tacked on hollywood moral. The sheer horror of those ghostly pants running through the woods after you, is the emotional core of the tale.

Seuss understood the dark underside of childhood very well.

thing one and thing two

The last time we were in Orlando I saw a set of twins wearing t-shirts with "thing one" and "thing two," printed on them. Cute.
