King, Queen....

Batter, we need to stop following one another or people are going to start to talk!

All in favor, say "Aye"

I think Bob Peal and Batter should ALWAYS post simultaneously and that NO ONE should ever ever come between thier posts - and that they should keep those avs forever.

*sniff* You like me. You really like me!

Point noted, Cym!

I know this is gonna make me sound like a jackass but what is a count sheet, as far as I've known a bed sheet is a bed sheet, there are flannelete and satin and cotton but thats as far as my knowledge goes, is this another US term that I just haven't got or am I really missing something here ?

Thread count: The number of threads per inch in a fabric; higher quality linens have 250 or more thread count. The higher the thread count, the finer the quality.

If you've never slept on a bed with high thread count sheet, ah!, you're missing one of the great sensual pleasures of your life. They are stronger and last longer - much longer, actually - than low thread count sheets. They get *very* expensive, yes, but you buy them so much less often, it all works out.

Oh I see now, when I go to buy sheet's I just buy the heavy/thick ones not the thin nasty ones, I've been doing the right thing then but not knowing the term for it.

My bed is the couch.

Its long, brown, and the cushions sink, which makes it kinda hard to sleep on.

But hey, at least its in front of the T.V. .

*Eats a twinkie* :D

Its Queen Size...
and its got a black iron looking canopy and head/foot board

I am in this whole Chinese/Japanese decorating scheme... which includes my Comforter Set with Chinese Symbols on it. I love it... ;) very comfy and you can handcuff/tie people to it

Recently purchased all new bedroom furniture. Seems mundane to most of you, but it's the first thing I bought myself after college. Really mine, all mine, no one bought it for me!

I digress. The bed is a queen. What makes me weak in the knees is that it's made of unfinished pine. Not that shiny varnished stuff...natural wood. The headboard has a section at the top finished with black wrought iron in an intricate heart-like pattern. The footbard is complimentary, though I think the bed looks better without it. I bought two nightstands, a triple dresser and a bachelor's chest that match. The dresser also has a complimentary wrought iron pattern above the mirror. New comforter set from Ralph Lauren in a happy springy blue/yellow "county pin" motif complete the look for me. Of course the sheets on it at this time are 300 count (they didn't have higher count in a matching color) but during the winter, oh boy, I have purchased matching flannel sheets.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR WINTER!!!

It's the small things that amuse me. :) Don't even get me started about my living room suite!

Oh, I love sheets with high thread counts, that way they don't get all pilly when they've been watched a dozen times (My sheets get washed twice a week, because I like a clean bed!), and I have to nest, I don't just fall asleep, I have to NEST. I have 7 pillows, 2 blankets in the summer, 4 in the winter. What? My basement is cold! I love sleeping in a cold room, if it's hot, I can't sleep. And in the winter, I love flannel sheets.

My bed in my apartment is a full king size bed. Its nice and large, but empty these days. I typically use the whole thing, except when I have someone to hold onto. I can sleep on my back, sitting up, on my right side, on my left side, and even face down. Guess its just the mood for the evening.

Fit for a king! When I sleep alone, I am on the right side. When not sleeping, I use the entire width, depth and breadth of the mattress but still end up sleeping on the right.

cym, I am with you. I adore high thread counts and never buy anything less than a 250 count. My reasoning is that we spend more than 1/3 or our lives in bed, we better be comfortable. In addition, beautiful sheets, luxurious fabrics, colorful coordinates for the comforter, shams and dust ruffles help create the perfect setting.

I switch sets several times a year. Not only for change of season/weather but for the mood. Creating a certain ambiance is easy to do by changing colors/textures.

My tastes are eclectic - in everything-even in the bedroom decor. When I am feeling romantic, soft and lovey dovey, I pull out the floral set. If I am feeling raw, earthy, primal, I use the nubby, textured Egyptian cotton. If I want to come on strong, I decorate with the bold, geometric pattern. Then there are the times I just want plain!

I also prefer sleeping in a cold room. I hate being too hot. I don't want to wake up in a layer of sweat. And, besides, if I get too cold, I can snuggle up next to the warm body beside me!

queen size

And I sleep on the left side but usually end up all twisted around in the middle!!!

ahhh

At my place I have a queen sized bed, high thread count sheets, BUT I sleep on the couch most of the time. The bed just seemed too big for one person.

But MY bed, my bed for life, is a queen sized antique sleigh bed that I absolutely love. It's quite high off the ground. I love sleeping in it. Such a great mattress as well. In bed I normally sleep on the left hand side.

Hey lav - if you're looking for someone to share - I too have a half empty bed all the time!!!:p

Oh here - it's been awhile and I missed this - hindlick - :p

Double, Single, Futon, Hide-a-bed, Bunk...

What kind of bed do you sleep in?

And if you are FACING the bed...what side do you sleep on?

At the moment King single, Normally queen

Facing the bed from the bottom or the top?

I'm easy, When or IF I ever have someone else in there they can pick their side and I'll be in the othe bit.

God I miss my queen size four poster waterbed...
