12-year old Colorado student smirks after getting kicked out of class for wearing the ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ flag on his backpack, teacher falsely claims the flag is linked to slavery. This kid knows more about history than the teacher
😂
“So they're the reason that they do not want the flag is due to its origins with slavery and slave trade. That is what was, um, that's the reasoning behind them.”FACT CHECK: The Gadsden flag originated from the American Revolution when the U.S. fought for their independence from Great Britain. It is now a symbol for standing up against authoritarian rule… kinda like this woman.

I'm a "sticks and stones" sort. I also believe that it's not what happens, it's what happens NEXT. Flags, symbols. Shut up and do your work, and I'm fine with that.

You might want to fact check this.

I believe in the sentiments expressed by the Gadsen flag, but not in how it's commonly used to support the opposite of those sentiments- which is racism, treason, and iron-fisted totalitarian government.

Much like the confederate flag used to merely be a symbol of southern heritage. If you were from Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama or Texas, it was not at all inappropriate to sport one. Nowadays, it carries a loaded meaning, and if I saw a kid in my class sporting either it, or the Gadsen flag, I would probably ask them to remove it- whereas 30 or 40 years ago I would not have had a problem with it.

Go back far enough, a hundred years ago, and even the swastika was just a symbol used by both buddhists, pagans, and Native Americans to represent a variety of harmless ideas- pagan sun worship, buddhism, luck, and so on.

The 45th Infantry Division of the Oklahoma National Guard wore the swatstika as its unit patch from 1924 to 1939. Many of the MAGA faithful still honor these troops by displaying their patch to this day.

He's back in class....so this thread is moot..... certainly.

Probably wasn't until about 1939 that Americans began to understand the evils of Nazism. But to your point the Swastika was also a sacred, centuries-old symbol found in the Hindu and Buddhist religions and American Indian culture; the Navajo call it the rolling log. Oklahoma was an Indian territory. In fact Congress designated it as such and about 44 million acres of it were the home of Apache, Arapaho, Comanche, Kiowa, Osage, and the Wichita. So there may be a back story to your story that you either left out yourself or were unaware of.

It's obvious today's teachers are propagandists, not educators in the traditional sense.
no, I meant the those that would be offended or distracted!

Now let’s see what can be done about the Minuteman statue in Concord, California:

There is a town about 30 miles away from San Francisco named in honor of Concord, Massachusetts, where the original “shot heard round the world” was fired. Their school has the classic image of a Minuteman, holding his rifle, as their logo. But now the school board there has voted 4 to 1 to replace that image with a bear (costing the taxpayers $200,000).
Liberals denounce the Minuteman statue for “showcasing a firearm” and for not being “gender inclusive.”

Adam Clark, superintendent of the district, squeaks that a “male minutemen soldier holding a rifle was not a symbol many of our students and staff felt created a welcoming environment.”

Both the Gadsen flag and the Minuteman are symbols that must be defended from leftists at all costs. Erasing the symbols of liberty is a key aspect of erasing liberty itself.

I agree but California may be lost and beyond redemption. There are very few left to fight the stranglehold that Marxists have on all branches of the government in its three largest cities and most of its larger coastal towns. Los Angeles and San Francisco are for all practical purposes lawless. Democrats have destroyed the place.

How would you know? You don't have children. So where do you gain a knowledge of what teachers are doing in the classroom, except from the shit new sources you read?

Here's a quick quiz question.
Why does the title say 'Pride Flag' when the subject is 'Gadsden Flag'?

Does OP not even know the difference?

The short answer is no. The long answer is no. Which answer would you care to hear? *chuckles*

The story all over the news about the kid with the Gadsden flag sticker proves the teacher involved is not qualified to teach children about America. One can only wonder about what other lies she has poisoned children with. We don't need a new generation of Fuzzy's wasting our time with their ignorance.
