I will be in Lexington next week on business. If anyone can suggest a local point of interest to see or a particularily good non-chain restaurant I'd love to hear about it.

Well...I'm from KY, and was actually there over the weekend. Teensy little town called Paintsville, waaaay east. It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't wanna live there.

As far as Kentucky goes if you don't live in one of the larger cities like Lexington or Louisville you're pretty much out of luck.lol

depends on what you like. if you're a city person, and like clubs, shows, and fine dining, sure it leaves a little to be desired.

otoh, if you like hiking, biking, climbing, camping, and other outdoor stuff, it's one of the best states in the union.
