Hey, does anyone have trouble keeping up with their works. I've been working on my next chapter but between work, school, personal life, and taking into account criticisms of my chapters being too short this chapter has been going for quite a while now that I hope that people are still interested when it does drop.

How long does it take to be published? I put in my first story a few days ago.

If you're talking about a written story, new writers should expect to wait a week or two. Your story will go through a deeper level of scrutiny to ensure it complies with the site's content rules. Don't pull it back to Draft once you've submitted, because that will put it at the end of the queue. Patience is a virtue, when you're new.

If it's an audio story, I believe it's much longer - I think the site does audio in batches once a month, something like that. An audio story teller would know.

Thanks. I did get published, but think the long weekend slowed it down. It's called "Home Spa Party" - lame, I know - because I don't like to used "Untitled". It's from a longer piece so there's hardly any back story. Basically, it's a group sex romp.

I know writers who set aside a certain amount per day - words, that is. Then they can stop or keep going and revise later.

I used to. I have readers who now keep me on track but there have definitely been times when I sit to write and have to force myself to put something, anything on the page.

The good news is even if I throw away what I've written, reviewing it later and editing it will inspire me to write and take the story a different way or fix what was wrong.

If comments get you down, which has definitely happened to me before, I accept their criticisms, evaluate their merit, often rephrase the critique in a nicer way, determine if I can do anything about it, and then incorporate my solution into my work.

With a busy schedule, there's no shortcut. Prioritize your writing and make time for it.

When it's time, write. Edit and rewrite later.

Write for yourself, and something you'll enjoy. You'll find your audience eventually.
