Perhaps it's time for Viagra. Does you doctor have any suggestions as to the cause?

dude, an erection happens largely as a result of localized blood pressure so yes, your meds are quite probably messing with it. i'd suggest calling your doc & asking about an alternative medication due to undesirable side effects.

As the previous poster stated blood pressure medications can indeed cause this problem. It is more common with certain categories such as beta blockers. If it is being caused by the medication its pretty easy to switch to a different blood pressure tablet - there are several different types which might suit you better. Talk to your G.P.

Really good chance this is what it is - I had a doc tell me - if I told you it would affect your erections - you wouldn't take it.

It is the BP med. Same thing happened to me and doc put me on a different one.

I am presently taking meds for high cholesterol. My doc said with that problem comes blood flow problems which can effect erections. Check this out, if you haven't already.

You are right... the condition can cause the problem as well as the medication

Worth looking into Ginseng.. it'll put a little lead in your pencil... but when you have health concerns, read the info & proceed with caution

I will also mention for all the guys here.... a doc friend of mine recently pointed out..... when a man has any sort of blood flow problem (high bp, high cholesterol, etc....) then there is a much higher need to take care of the prostate with things like saw palmetto.... consider that the prostate (just like anywhere else in your body) can't get the full nutrition it needs with a less efficient blood flow... and, especially for those who sit alot (either sedentary lifestyle or cubical-chair-job) there is even more to be concerned as pressure and weight are applied downward

Dont forget to get a complete blood workup too. It is very common to have a hormone drop too. My hubby just had an annual physical and his testosterone was way below normal. A very simple jel has solved the problem. Just make sure to be up front with your doctor.
Good luck!

Chances are, you have high rather than low blood pressure. The meds relax your veins to lower the pressure. Guess what relies on having tight veins to keep ..erm.. firm..
Yeah, that.
Try a cock ring to keep the blood where you need it .

Do not take Viagra along with your blood pressure meds without consulting your doctor first.

Viagra was originally made as a blood pressure med, but had the obvious side effect of a raging hard-on, so it was changed to an ED med. As a result, it still does lower your blood pressure, so if you're already on blood pressure meds, taking Viagra can result in an unsafe drop in BP. Low BP + physical activity(sex) = bad juju.

You've made the right choice about talking to your doc.

I went on one bp med some time ago, and it definitely took me a couple of months to adjust in terms of maintaining erections. A second med was added, and after a while, through diet changes and lowering the bp, I am finding I am more capable after a few months, more than I had been in years, actually. This is purely conjectural, though. Diet and weight loss probably contributed as much here, if not more.
