Jeff, I just want to say, my deepest condolences go out to you and your family. I too lost a father last April. I knew what you are going through.
A few days after he passed I wrote a poem for him, yeah I know, i actually have an intellectual side, I was surprised myself. Anyway, I sent it in, and it got published, well only online, but it was just the same.

Speck:

Sands of time,
Wasting effortlessly away.
From now until eternity,
The promise of another day.

One speck of sand,
No different from the rest.
Has taken a fall,
A promise of it's best.

Now from this they mourn,
The loss taken by others.
This one has gone away,

For a while even before what happened with my father, I even told a few Lit people I hold dear to my heart I was going to drop the Jeff726 moniker and start over again as someone else, because quite simply I could not handle the problems I was having anymore. But the passing of my father taught me worse things can happen in life than someone like Lasher or DCL making comments about how I can't get laid or a bored teenager breaking my heart. Stuff like that goes away more readily than does the pain from the loss of a loved one.

I hold no grudges of my past anymore so this time around I am a stronger person and not just the little virgin you all came to know, although I still am one at this point, which I am happy with. I'm basically the same loving, romantic guy I have always been, just stronger in will and spirit. Not one to let the shit get me down.
