He's an action star, not a grand actor, and he's very good at what he does. Generally, his name in the credits is a good indication that I'm going to enjoy the film.
He comes across well in interviews, has a history of philanthropy, doesn't hit the headlines for racist or misogynistic behaviour.

Even if he wasn't so fucking pretty, I'd say he's a yes.

As a William Gibson fan I was hugely disappointed in Johnny Mnemonic.

No movie can match his stories. Great author. I didn't mind Johnny Mnemonic, Gibson wrote the screenplay for it. Definitely not the same calibre as the short story.
Just a side note, he wrote two X Files episodes and made an appearance in one.
