KaZaA question...

A while ago I downloaded KaZaA. Big mistake. I was bombarded by viruses and the damned thing slowed my puter down big time. So I deleted it... or so I thought.

There are still elements of the program in my system which I can't locate to remove. I know its still there because the connected icon comes up in my bottom task bar when I'm connected to the internet.

My question is how can I shit can this pain in the ass programme. Since I down loaded it I have had nothing but trouble. Now explorer keeps on crashing. It happens so frequently that I have to have auto save on Word set to 2 minute intervals... HELP!!!!

I had the same problem but I went through windows explorer and completely deleted it.

I did the same... or so I thought. It's still there but I can't locate any more components for it on explorer.

try going through Add/Remove programs

Kazaa comes with alot of piggyback programs (spyware).. do you have AdAware on your computer?

Hi Freaky... yep did that too and yes I do have AdAware. I use it twice a week and it's still in there.

hmmm can you use adaware to delete it out?

let me do some checking around.

I use kazaa and haven't had any problems with it. But I also disabled all of the shit that downloaded with it.

To completely delete all of the components you might have to go into windows. I had to go through windows explorer, then go through my windows files. Which operating system are you working off of?

Don't forget to check your registry.

It doesn't help with uninstalling.. but it does help install it so it's not messing up your computer. (no spyware to deal with)

To completely delete all of the components you might have to go into windows. I had to go through windows explorer, then go through my windows files. Which operating system are you working off of?

I'm using Windows 98 SE. I went through AdAware to delete it as well but everytime I run AdAware KaZaA is back.

Go into your registry

and delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/KaZaA


According to Kazaa.. that will remove the whole program
