West Melbourne use Taser on 'butt-naked' jogger

West Melbourne, Florida -- An 18-year-old man faces a number of charges today after West Melbourne police found him jogging naked wearing only swimming goggles next to a busy roadway.

"He was jogging butt-naked and didn't even have on shoes. We suspect he was under the influence ... he was a little incoherent," said Cmdr. Steve Wilkinson, spokesman for the West Melbourne Police Department.

"He was also very nice and apologetic for our inconvenience."

The unidentified man, who officers had to subdue with a Taser, was seen sprinting at about 7 a.m. today near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Eber Road, officials reported.

Police converged on the area and searched several neighborhood side streets for the nude man.

"We found him, but he refused to stop and ended up getting Tasered. We then took him to Wuesthoff Hospital in Melbourne," Wilkinson said.

Police took the man into custody for further questioning and worked to confirm his identity since he was not carrying a wallet.

The man faces charges involving exposure of his sexual organs and resisting arrest.

Oh my! Doesn't sound like any fun at all!

I love those too! They just came in season here & we are all looking for the best price we can get on them since they are so expensive here

Yes they are expensive here too. I too look for the best price and when I find it I do stock up. They do keep in my fruit/vege drawer in my fridge.

They are the most expensive apple where I am, but I do think they are worth it. Hope you manage to get some hon.

The girls at the salon found some for $1.69 this week at one of the groceries which is about $1.25 less per pound then we were finding. As much as I like them, those girls are addicted to them. So I just keep an ear out for what I hear they find
