We are getting that below freezing temp overnight too. It has made it up to 58 degrees by now. You know, I may be forced to turn on my furnace today!
And support a utility Co. dang!
What a strange day, I had a suprise 10 question Psychology class quiz with each question worth 10 points and it goes towards the Final grade then on the drive back I had to stop on a State highway to let the chickens cross the road, around 20 of them red featherd egg layers.

I still have issues with raw chicken. My mom raised 200 one year for the freezer.
The smell & pin feathers bring it all back... kinda like a farm version of PTSD

I turned the furnace on this morning.
It was 62 degrees in my apartment. It may not even get out of the 50s today. Oh well it is well in to October.

I found out my Dad's parents raised chickens during WWII. They lived in a city. The stories he told about killing them, getting rid of the pin feathers etc are quite something.

I think that's why God invented those nice boneless skinless packages of chicken at the grocery. For those of us who have suffered trauma at the hands of pin feathers!

Could be sweetie. I wish they'd have some chicken breasts with the skin still on. I like to cook, bake them with the skin on and take the skin off before eating. It adds lots of flavor. At least once in awhile.

I think they have both here too. It may just be it is all gone when I check the meat counter.
I'm not to happy with just thighs, but when I make soup I do get the entire bird. Just have to skim the fat off.
