I've come to this CD late Barricades & Brickwalls, a guy at the hospital gave it to me. I don't usually like country but this is fantastic! What a voice and she wrote all the songs!

Not Pretty Enough

Am I not pretty enough
Is my heart too broken
Do I cry too much
Am I too outspoken

Don't I make you laugh
Should I try it harder
Why do you see right through me

I live, I breathe, I let it rain on me
I sleep, I wake, I try hard not to break
I crave, I love, I've waited long enough
I try as hard as I can
I laugh, I feel, I make believe it's
real
I fall, I freeze, I pray down on my knees
I hope, I stand, I take it like a man
I try as hard as I can

Kasey Chambers is brilliant

Lucinda Williams sings on one track, all tracks are fucking fantastic!

Ayaka I would also recommend you listening to another album of hers titled "The Captain" shes a very talented aussie girl. :)

I'm going to find every CD she has done. I just can't get her out of my head.

Barricades and brickwalls won't keep me
from you
You can tie me down on the railroad
track
You can let that freight train lose
Iron bars and big ole cars
Won't run me out of town
I'll be damned if you're not my man
Before the sun goes down

You can chain me down
On the edge of town
You can leave me there to die
But the railroad track

Will bring me back
When the lonesome whistle cries
You can lock me out
You can scream and shout
You can try to change your name
But by the end of the day
I'll take you away
Like a force 10 hurricane

I love this:
I'll be damned if you're not my man
Before the sun goes down

Go girl!

Here is a little taste of her other album

The Captain

Well I don't have as many friends because
I'm not as pretty as I was
I've kicked myself at times because I've lied
So I will have to learn to stand my ground
I'll tell 'em I won't be around
I'll move on over to your town and hide

And you be the Captain
And I'll be no-one
And you can carry me away if you want to
And you can lay low
Just like your father and if
I tread upon your feet you just say so
'Cos you're the Captain, I am no-one,
I tend to feel as though I owe one to you

Well I have handed all my efforts in
I searched here for my second wind
Is there somewhere here to let me in I asked
So I slammed the doors they slammed at me
I found the place I'm meant to be
I figure out my destiny at last

Did I forget to thankyou for the ride
I hadn't tried I tend to runaway and hide
