Kansas vs. Kentucky

Yes, it's NCAA Basketball time.

The University of Kansas Jayhawks are about to battle the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

This would be a good win for Kansas - on to the Sweet 16.

And I just started my first drink.

:cathappy:

Go Hawks!

*Grabbing another water and heading back outside for more work.*

I don't want to risk your ire this close to the Lit together, but I absolutely HATE Kansas! That fucking prick left Illinois to go coach at his "dream school". If they lost in the first round every year, I'd be a happy camper (oh well, maybe next year). Go Wildcats!

Hmmm, Kansas vs. Kentucky....
Two teams where the coaches have to call the players by their numbers, since they all have the same last name.

Sorry, just mad that my Badgers got beat by fucking UNLV. I've been drinnking for several hours now.

And why is this the fault of Kansas? ;)

Sweetie, he was only with Illinois for 3 years. And he had been an assistant coach at Kansas at the start of his coaching career.

We were a bit more crushed when Roy Williams left us after 15 seasons to go to HIS dream team of North Carolina.

We coped. So will you, dear lad.

So will you.

:)

(Go Hawks. CRUSH Kentucky.)

:D
I didn't say I wasn't being unreasonable, just that he made me root against Kansas. ;) I used to really love them (Danny Manning was awesome).

I don't have many more teams I care about in the tournament. I was really pulling for Xavier and U of I (of course). Now we just have SIU left, but they're not really a Chicago team (I don't know a single player). I guess my favorite would be Texas. Durant is an absolute monster and I'm crossing fingers and toes that the Bulls (via the Knicks) get the #1 or #2 pick in the draft (because someone will be stupid enough to pick the tallk, slow, uncoordinated guy over the basketball phenom  ).

Not looking good for old UK. Have fun in the sweet 16 sweetsubsarahh. :D

I'll work on ya in Chicago.

Yes...yes *stroking chin thoughtfully* a good memory tied to KU could make me a fan. :p

And Texas goes down in flames as well. Am I the only one who thinks this is the worst run tournament ever by CBS? I've missed games with teams that are close and even in one of our conferences, only to have to watch a blowout between two teams who have no bearing on Chicago or Illinois. Very few of the games have been of interest. I'll be shocked if their ratings are good.

Louisville fan here. We got beat by a very good Texas A&M squad yesterday.

Hey Sarah, what's that song they sing at KU games. I've heard it several times on TV, but never could make out what they're singing.

It kind of sounds like a hymn. Very slow and melodic.

I've always wondered what it was, but have never known any Kansas fans to ask about it.

FWIW: I have Kansas losing in the Championship game to Georgetown.

Sarahh!

This tourney has been a killing field for lower seeds. So far there have only been a handful of upsets. Winthrop(seeded 11th) beat ND(6), and VCU(11) did the same to Duke(6) in the first round but both lost their next games to higher seeded teams. In the second round, UNLV(7) beat Wis.(2) and Vanderbilt(6) did the same to Wash. St.(3), but as Bugs Bunny would say, "That's all folks."

The same pattern holds in the women's tourney. Marist's(13) upset of Ohio State(4) was about it for the underdogs.

If this keeps up, your Jayhawks should be heading for Atlanta soon for the final four. Me, I don't have a dog in this hunt. In the men's tourney, I'll pull for USC because I'm acquainted with the Trojans' head coach, Tim Floyd. In the women's tourney, I'll be watching my alma mater, LSU, which is playing w/o head coach, Pookie Chapman, and Baylor because I know their head coach, Kim Mulkey.

It's amazing that all the number one seeds are still in.

In our bracket, the four going to the sweet 16 are seeds 1-2-3-4.

I'm enjoying this trend.
