Justification

Focus on your words, not their image. Just like Homer or Shakespeare, hey?

My words are fine, thank you. Also, Shakespeare wrote plays. He intrinsically considered how his words were presented.

I think it's curious how many of the responses I got to this amount to "Shut up, sit down, and don't rock the boat." It's such a small, straight-forward formatting question.

And the only one with an answer that means anything is Laurel, so why are you asking us here on the forum? Many of the responses were we don't have an answer for your question. That and most of the people answering don't care one way or the other but they did go out of their way to try and help.

That only Laurel could answer was something I could have only learned by asking here first. For all I knew, this is common practice.

We agree. An author has an artistic vision..... ->
The look and feel of a chat might work well
Of course the width of the page may confuse people without the nice word bubble.

BTW - I have PMd Laurel and Manu, asking for firm information about the number and/or percent of stories that are read via the APP versus on a regular PC.

No reply... :(

I'll let everyone know if I hear back from them.

I think this is a good idea and I hope it works out. It may take some tinkering to ensure the formatting accurately conveys the impression of a text conversation. I wrote a story recently with a significant portion of the conversation in text, but I used regular dialog formatting and it occurred to me there might be a better way to depict the dialog via text. I'm eager to see how this turns out. When do you expect to publish the story?

We would definitely recommend submitting the story under the old interface to preview how it appears in the existing reader interface.
There is no telling how any of our work will appear in the new one or the android app.
We've been asking to preview it ASAP.

Is that new interface supposed to appear Real Soon Now?

Sort of like the things on the site homepage that've been New since sometime before I found the site?
