Future candidates for the Supreme Court should be grilled for their views on the importance of "precedent" (or lack of importance).

Also, membership in the Federalist Society should be an automatic disqualification for consideration.

The Supreme Court shouldn't exist at all and anyone ever associated with it needs to be shot. It's a stupid institution and nothing at all like it exists anywhere else on the planet.
Israel has a Supreme Court for now, but American billionaires are spending considerable amounts of cash to dissolve the institution, making the Israeli Prime Minister position essentially a "Prime Minister for life".

Does their Supreme Court consist of a special caste of work-allergic priestlings who dedicate their lives to pouring over the words of long-dead, genocidal slave-owning barbarians and conveniently twisting them into whatever will best serve the interests of the current ruling elite?

Huh... actually...

...not yet? :whistle::(

None of those statements in the meme signified that they weren't going to try to overturn it, though. They were quite crafty in their responses.

Should be a requirement or else we get Third World commies.

Hey Rob, speaking of billionaires

After hesitating, Miriam Adelson commits more than $100 million to Trump’s campaign

By Jacob KornbluhMay 30, 2024

Miriam Adelson, the wife of the late billionaire Sheldon Adelson, has reportedly pledged to spend more than $100 million to support former President Donald Trump in the upcoming general election after staying neutral in the Republican presidential primaries this year.

Adelson, an Israeli-born physician who specializes in substance abuse, is set to finance a rejuvenated pro-Trump super PAC, Preserve America, which was initially formed for Trump’s reelection bid in 2020, Politico reported Thursday. The Adelsons contributed $90 million to Trump in that election cycle.

Miriam Adelson is the latest of several billionaires who have pledged their support to Trump in recent weeks. And Bill Ackman, the founder of Pershing Square Capital Management and a prominent critic of colleges’ handling of campus antisemitism, will likely endorse Trump, the Financial Times reported Thursday. Both Trump and President Joe Biden used Thursday’s verdict against Trump for falsifying business records in fundraising appeals. Trump has raised less than Biden, but narrowed the gap in April.

I'm sure you'd like to roast her ass in an oven somewhere, but she isn't the only big spender leaving the stench of your party.

Every country in Western Europe has a Supreme Court - meaning the highest court of appeal - different name and different jurisdiction doesn’t mean that such courts don’t exist even if you haven’t gone to the trouble of looking it up

None of the justices made any promises to rule a certain way on any matter on any future cases. They were all confirmed by the Senate.

For 246 years, "Stare Decisis" ("that what has been decided") has been a cornerstone of the United States Supreme Court. Once conservatives got their 6-3 majority, they threw that 246 year custom out the window and began "legislating from the bench", essentially co-opting the legislative branch.

Alito is the prime culprit here, he has voted against Stare Decesis more than any other Supreme Court "justice" in the history of the organization. He hates America

I get it. You don’t like SCOTUS. None of the justices promised anything to anyone on decisions pertaining to future cases. They were all confirmed by the Senate. 🇺🇸

You are technically correct, which is the best kind of correct. The Senate got complacent after 240 years, they did NOT ask about the candidates about how they felt about precedent. ALL of the justices confirmed in this century paid lip service to precedent when asked about Roe v. Wade. "That has already been decided, I see no need to comment on that".

America today is in much worse shape because of activist Supreme Court judges. The Supreme Court has forfeited their lofty standing with the American public solely to legislate from the bench.

Two experts discuss what is wrong with the Supreme Court (it’s more than bribery) and suggested improvements. Senator Whitehouse is impressive.
