The Watchtower, Moon.
23rd August 2028.

JJ stood at the window and looked at earth, it seemed so small, yet it was home to the greatest heroes in the universe as well as to some of the worst villians ever known as well.

It was strange how one small planet could have so much history. he grinned no wonder his father had loved it so much. That was a point, he had to get some Oreo's for his dad at some point.

He shook his head hearing the first thoughts of those arriving.

As he had being a member of the previous League (albiet for only a few weeks), the 3rd founders had decided it was time to retire, and that JJ, as a member of the younger generation should gather the next generation of heroes and start the 4th founding (for that is what it had become known as.)

He smiled. He simply hoped those he had chosen for the founding would be up to the job. Only he knew who had being chosen, no-one else knew who the other founders would be apart from themselves and JJ.

The lifts doors opened and JJ turned.

The Founders were arriving.

Jade was pretty impressed with the base. You didn't get to be someplace this high tech everyday! thou now she might....

She was here to be a menber of the justice leage, as a green lantern by the name of Jade. She didn't know how though it would be, but she felt she should give it a shot. She got out of the lift and saw a funny looking creature.

Are you jj?

She asked it telepathicly.

Kala scowled as she rode the space shuttle up to the Watchtower. Her cousin Kal-El could have simply flown through space, but she was forced to take a shuttle like anyone else simply because she couldn't yet fully control her flight. At most she could manage to fly for a little while at a time, not nearly long enough to fly in space. It simply wasn't fair.

A sigh escaped her lips as she gazed out the window, watching the Earth become smaller and smaller. For the past few years it had been her home even though she was not native to the planet. She still missed her native Krypton, but the Earth had made for a nice substitute. Her cousin was right, its people were worth saving. And that was why she was on this shuttle now, flying up to join the latest Justice League.

She had become a member of the former Justice League just before it ended, so it was not much a surprise to her when JJ asked her to help found the new one. Perhaps he expected her to possess the same stability and moral code as her cousin. Sad to say, that was one way in which she fell short of him.

Finally the shuttle docked at the Watchtower. Her patience was already running thin when the pilot informed her that she would have to wait another hour or so for them to fix the shuttle's door as it had somehow become jammed. In her frustration she kicked the door, merely to vent some steam, yet it flew down the corridor with the force of her kick. Mumbling an apology to the pilot, she took off down the corridor.

It delighted her to be flying, even if it was in a narrow corridor, but she soon settled back down onto the floor as she lost control. Running now, she ran at superhuman speed as she quickly approached the main room of the Watchtower. She saw JJ and a member of the Green Lantern Corps standing there and would have seen them much sooner had she thought to use her x-ray vision. Slowing to a halt, she smiled at the both of them as she smoothed her hair and greeted them. "Hi JJ, I'm here. Who's your friend?"

me jade hehe

yo, im Jade
"woops, forgot myself there. im a member of the glc, incase you didn't see. And who are you? Supergirl? *slight laugh*

Kala scowled at this Jade girl as her hands went to rest on her hips.

"No, the big red S on my chest stands for Sally. Of course I'm Supergirl."

As the Javelin Mach4 door's opened Steel surveyed the landing bay, the layout was indeed very impressive, He was still feeling apprehensions for joining the league, he had not worked with many of the others, though his predecessors had worked with the first Martian Manhunter on many occasions he had yet to meet his son, had Tim Drake (a.k.a. Batman II) not had pursueded him then he would have still been running around Metrolopis, but if being a member of the Justice League was his destiny and if it would help him discover who he was then this is where he needed to be.. he stepped out of the Javelin Mach 4 and started making his way down the corridors.[/i]

JJ smiled slightly at the gathering.

Hello Jade, Yes I am the Martain Manhunter, And welcome to the Watch-tower.

His welcoming of Supergirl was much different and more relaxed. Hey Kala, ready to rumble.

In his voice he simply said. 'The forth member of our group is on his way, though we still have 3 to come.'

Hmm, he had thought that Flash, Batman and Aries would be first to arrive, but oh well.

"Yo sorry. I didn't think we would have an atual super person here! As in from the superman bloodline. Preety inpresive i think. Now all we need is a Batman, and we will be truly complete *chuckle*.

Seriously, it's nice to have you here. For when i mess up. Not too much i hope! Soon we will be a true justice leauge! Nice.

Nice to meet you jj my friend. I hope we work well together. And nice place!

As Steel made his way through the corridors, he was amazed at how easily he had been finding his way around, granted he had a lot of experience but he'd never stepped into the new Watch Tower before, he hadn't even seen any diagrams, it was like this will all building, he just seemed to be able to negotiate them easily, he shrugged it off as he always did, had he not have met JJ before he would have been surprised by the lack of noise but the inability for JJ to contact him telepathically had been discovered when he was first contacted, neither of them could explain why, the only reason Steel could come up with is that it was due to his biometalic skin but in truth that was nothing but a guess. he smiled as he reached the room where the others had gathered, his jaw dropped as he set his eyes on the the girls. he saw his reaction but he quickly straightened himself and entered the room professionally...

"Hi.. whatever you are. Now we have the man of steel, so we are truly the justic leauge. So compadre, who are you and were do you come from? We are all freinds here hehe."

Hi! Or at least she tried to say it. She couldn't and frowned. JJ, whats the deal with his no telepathy thing?

As Steel entered the room he watched as the woman looked towards him, he recognized her, Jade he believed her name was but he could have been wrong, she was Green Lantern cops that much he knew. She looked at him almost as if she was going to say something but nothing came out, strange. That is unless she was trying to speak telepathically, just in case he thought he better introduce himself..

Steel: The name's Steel but you're welcome to call be John if it makes you more comfortable.. Uuuh.. Your Jade right... And of course I recognise Supergirl & JJ

Although he had never met Supergirl in person he had certainly recognized her, there was no way of missing that 'S', especially considering where it was placed on her costume, and then of course there was JJ who he had met only months earlier...

"Hi steel, not sure how you know me, but whatever, nice to meet you. Im a Green lantern, but i guess the ring kinda gives that away, huh?"

She steeped closer to him, and gave him a look over.

"So what are your powers Steel? I assume you have super streanth, but im guessing you have some hidden thing? I can do most lanter things, fike fly and make stuff, etc, but for some reson i can't shot or do anything cool, like timetravel or go invisabe. *short laugh* I guess your cooler then me, Steel. As a matter of fact, so is Supergirl".

Steel smiled, warmly. It was nice to feel so comfortable within this new group of people, he had so many reservations about joining and within a matter of three minutes this 'Jade' seems to have helped throw them all away, there was just something about how nice she was, yes he was going to enjoy being part of the new Justice League.

Steel: Its not hard to notice a Green Lantern, its amazing how much good work you guys can do, I've heard your name one or twice through the media. They may not be the most reliable source of information but it can be useful..

By now Steel was right up with the group, he hesitated for a moment, just a split moment but he slowly raised his hands and slid off the mask, there was no need to hide his face, especially considering his identity was no secret. With all of the questions that had been raised regarding his identity, the secret had become worthless anyway, he had no real life to protect, the mask was more of a dedication than anything else..

Steel: Your right about the strength, I've also got a limited superspeed, and I am invulnerable, although my invulnerability is nothing compared to Supergirls.

JJ smiled at the gathered, 'So, shallwe sit and wait for the others, I've been dying to show you all the Council room.'

As he led them to an adjoining room, he replied to Jade, I am not quite sure but i think it has something to dow ith his steel skin.

He opened the door and let them into the council room.

The council room was a large room with a large circular desk in the centre. Around the table were Seven chairs.

Around the room were Portraits of all the previous Incarnations of the Justice League, focusing mainly on the founders of each.

The ceiling was simply a glass dome, looking out to space.

JJ made his way to a chair and smiled. 'These chairs rock, you place your hand on the table like so...'

He placed his hand on the handprint shown on the table infront of his chair, and suddenly things glowed. Within minutes, the both the chair and the section of the table immeadeatly in front of him showed his symbol.

'Yeah, it rocks doesn't it. to become a founder you must place your hand like i have in a place. That makes that section of the table and your chair your own. Also, the Watch-tower won't become fully operational at least until all the founders have being resgistered and gained their places on the council.'

He sat down.

'IF you would all now mind registering like i just have, then all we have to do is wait for the last three to arrive.'

Steel watched as JJ explained the chairs and table, it was quite amazing technology, very impressive, he slowly walked forward and took a seat on the opposing side of the table, he thought it best to spread out, slowly he placed his hand on the table as just like before everything glowed and personalized itself to him, on the table his star-like symbol could be easilly seen. He took his seat donning a smile of satisfaction.

Kala smiled at the greeting from JJ. She had always suspected that the Martian Manhunter had a dry sense of humor, but he would never admit to it, at least not to her. Rumble he had sad, much as she used to rumble against other female wrestlers. She just had to be careful not to trash talk the villains too much.

Still chuckling to herself, Kala turned to watch as the next founder entered the room. Her eyes widened a little in surprise as she took in his appearance. Wow, he deserved the nickname "Man of Steel" far more than her cousin did. So far she had remained silent as the others talked, simply gazing out the window into space. It still amazed her to be this far up, to actually be off the planet itself. It was not her first time in space, yet she barely remembered her escape from the dying planet Krypton.

She turned to watch as JJ opened the adjoining room and followed him into it. Her eyes immediately went to the portraits along the wall and to two portraits in particular. The first was none other than her cousin Superman. Of course he looked very much like the hero with his chiseled features and clear blue eyes. But another picture interested her more, namely the one of her sister Kara. Walking over to it, she gently ran her hand along the portrait's cheek. Terribly she missed her sister as she had not seen her since that terrible day when they fled to separate rockets on Krypton.

Sighing to herself, still a bit saddened by the memories, she walked around the table, running her hand along the handprints until the S symbol lit up, identical to the S on her chest. Smiling, she sat down in her seat, happy that it was next to JJ's. "This is all so cool JJ. I know I should be more somber about it and all, but I can't help giggling a little at being a founder of the Justice League. To think, I have the same role as my cousin once did."

Steel remained silent as he watched that amazing women take the seat next to JJ, he couldn't deny that he felt a little jealous but then again who wouldn't when you looking at a woman like that, then again Jade was pretty amazing as well, to say the least. But as he heard Supergirls remark he just had to say something..

Steel: Like everyone before you, you have something special, there is a reason your sitting at this table and don't you ever forget it, its not because your related to the big man, its because of who YOU are and what YOU bring to the table.. Its the same with us all, we were chosen for a reason, each of us...

Steel then sat back in his chair, he didnt say much but if he felt it was important then it would be said..

JJ gets bored and sings.

JJ smiled.

Kala, you have a more important role than that of your cousin and your sister. Times have changed since they were heroes, He projected.

He closed his eyes and silently began to sing Telepathically (though he didn't realise he's broadcasting it), while he waited for the last three to arrive.

I died
So many years ago
But you can make me feel
Like it isn't so
And why you come to be with me
I think I finally know
mmm-mmm

You're scared
Ashamed of what you feel
And you can't tell the ones you love
You know they couldn't deal
Whisper in a dead man's ear
It doesn't make it real
That's great

But I don't wanna play
'Cause being with you touches me
More than I can say
And since I’m only dead to you
I’m saying stay away and
Let me rest in peace

Let me rest in peace
Let me get some sleep
Let me take my love and bury it
In a hole 6-foot deep
I can lay my body down
But I can't find my, sweet release
So let me rest in peace

You know,
You got a willing slave
And You just love to play the thought
That you might misbehave
But Till you do,
I'm telling you
Stop visiting my grave
Let me rest in peace

I know I should go
But I follow you like a man possessed
There's a traitor here beneath my breast
And it hurts me more than you've ever guessed
If my heart could beat, it would break my chest
but I can see you're unimpressed
So leave me be and

Let me rest in peace
Let me get some sleep
Let me take my love and bury it
Im a hole 6-foot deep
I can lay my body down
But I can't find my sweet release
Let me rest in peace
Why won't you
Let me rest in peace?

He opened his eyes and saw Kala and Jade staring at him.

'What?'

Kala smiled to hear the words of the man of steel and JJ. Somewhere deep inside she knew that she was every bit as good as her cousin and sister if not better, she just needed to hear it sometimes. After all, there were times when she felt insecure in comparison to her cousin, envious of his control over his powers. She knew that in time and with experience she would control hers just as well.

"Thank you JJ and... oh I'm sorry, I haven't even asked your name yet. I'm Kala Zor-El or Supergirl to my adoring fans."

She turned to look quizzically at JJ then. That was him that she heard singing in her head, right? "Um JJ, why are you singing? And what is that that you're singing?"

Batman Makes His Entrance

Veronica Chase, the voluptuous redhead that had been working with him on the Excelsior Deep Space Telescope guidance system upgrade, simply signed when the phone in Jason’s pocket began to buzz. The message to meet at the watchtower had come in on his cell phone just like any other alert that the computer in the batcave sent out. Jason pulled the slick black phone from his pocket and flipped it open. The simple “W” symbol of Wayne Enterprises that had become a staple of his life was lightly blinking in the corner of the small screen. The logo only came up when there was something that required Batman’s attention. He opened the message, read it carefully, and promptly deleted it.

“Another errand for Mr. Wayne, Jason?” Veronica asked, tilting her head lightly in his direction without taking her eyes off the sensitive electronics she was working with. “He’s got you on quite the leash.”

Jason chuckled lightly. She didn’t know the half of it. It was a leash, but this leash had some serious perks.

“Yeah, Veronica. You know, he is getting up there in years and his health isn’t what it used to be. And now that he doesn’t have Alfred helping him around the place, it gets tough on him.” Jason set the circuit board model aside and headed for the door of the clean room. “Don’t work too hard there, Veronica,” he joked at her before the door hissed shut behind him. He quietly left the 33 rd floor on the elevators and made his way to the parking garage.

The thoughts in his head were coming at a mile a minute as he slipped on his leather jacket, clasped the buckle on his helmet, and hiked his leg over the seat of the custom black Ducati motorcycle. The message had been simple. Come Home; Other instructions to follow. Wayne’s messages were always somewhat cryptic, but this one seemed to have an unspoken sense of urgency about it. Something big was happening. He twisted the throttle and the high-revving engine shot the bike out of the garage and onto the streets of Gotham City. It took him less than ten minutes to traverse the fifteen miles of winding roads separating the office and the wrought-iron gates of Wayne Manor. The gates swung effortlessly on their hinges and closed behind him as he swung the bike into the garage on the east wing of the manor. He stepped into the small tool cabinet and pulled on the rusted saw handle in the upper corner. The floor descended and opened into the batcave. Bruce Wayne was already waiting.

“You made good time,” he said, turning to the main computer and punching several keys on the keyboard. Wayne always had some comment for Jason. He wondered if Wayne was always so overcritical and sarcastic, or if it was a way to show approval without really showing it. “This came in about a half-hour ago.”

The message was from a green-skinned man Jason recognized as the Martian Manhunter. Wayne had made Jason study the other superheroes, learn their names, powers, weaknesses. You never knew when that kind of information would come in handy. It invited Batman to the orbiting space station Watchtower to form a new Justice League. The message began to sink in. Jason was going to be a member of the fabled Justice League. It wasn’t just anyone who was invited to be a member, and Jason was sure that Wayne’s previous membership and support through the years had some influence in getting him a seat.

Wayne had already prepped the Batwing for takeoff. The new Batwing, completed just eight months ago, was quite a sight. It retained the basic shape of previous Batwings, but was much more streamlined and had been crammed with the latest in aeronautical equipment, sensors and weapons. Jason knew more about it than most, as he had personally overseen much of the design work in various sectors of the aerospace division.

He quickly changed into the batsuit as Wayne continued to brief him on what to expect when he reached the Watchtower. Jason was only half listening. He knew Wayne would have programmed most of the information into the Batwing’s computer and he could review it on his ascent. He climbed into the cockpit and began to go through the sequence to launch.

“Good luck,” Wayne said as he stepped back, “And don’t scratch the paint, Jason.” Another quip from Wayne, but this one was deserved. Jason had nearly taken the passenger side off the batmobile weeks before while tangling with Bane.

Moments later, he was rocketing up into the upper atmosphere on his way to the Watchtower. He had only been into space a few times, and the experience still left him with an uneasy feeling in his stomach. If there was a malfunction or he got into a firefight, there was little he could do in the vacuum of space. His suit would offer a short supply of air, but he was not one of the heroes that could survive in that harsh environment. The Watchtower loomed ahead of him and he brought the batwing into one of the docking stations. The hiss of pressurized air as the docking collar secured itself around his canopy was a welcome relief.

He began to walk through the corridors, looking for any of the others that would have been called to the station. A soft voice began melodically droning in his head, singing a sad song of rest and release. It got stronger as he continued down the hallway. The he heard the voices. He came to the door of the conference room and peered in. There were four of them already present; the Martian Manhutner, Supergirl, one of the Green Lanterns, and man encased in steel. He knew he was in the right place.

He quietly stepped into the room and stood stoically. He was in the suit, and he knew he had a reputation to uphold. He didn’t say a word, and yet his presence was made known.

For some reason Steel found it very hard to take his eyes from Supergirl, or Zor-El as he had just discovered, of course he knew why her body was magnificent but for all his abilities he couldn't seem but to resist looking at her, was he staring, was he being impolite? He wasn't sure, he shook his head hoping his staring had not been obvious...

Steel: I am known as Steel but you're welcome to call be John if it makes you more comfortable..

Jade and JJ couldnt help but notice how his response was worded almost exactly the same as he had introduced himself to Jade...

Jade walked over to her seat and waited for the Lantern symbol. It was kinda diffrent then normal, but whatever. Jade heard his comment about being your own persen, and kinda laughed at that.

"The gurdians don't give the rings to people who shouldn't have them. That at least mean's im supposed to be a Green Lantern. don't know why im so unusull, so i guess i am uniquie."

She noticed jj singing and smiled.

Nice song JJ. Hope we don't bore you too much.

She nitcied Batman arrive and smiled.

"Hey handsome, come over and join the Leauge. With you, we are like the First leauge. We got me, jj, supergirl, and a rendom hero. Works for me. Hehe."

Aries

<BOOM!> In the far corner of the room Bright lights of a tunnel appear and the boom tube starts to close.

Scott Free better sent me to the right spot or I will gut him, even if he is Barda's Dad. Ring? Quarry?[ Status scan
Martian threat status High
Human threat status None
Kryptonian threat status CRITICAL
Metalic entity *still scanning*
Ionian Energy detected *ELIMINATE*

Another GL trap, have they not learned I am not out to join the yellow cows of sinestro? very well.
"Die you Guardian pup, your masters should know I care not for which side wins, cause ARIES stands on his own."
4 beams of yellow energy sprang forth from Aries left ring finger. Heading towards the Krytonian, the metal being, the human and the last one headed towards the Ionan waif.

JJ felt batman enter and sent out a quick signal. Hello I won't inform anyone of your presence until you want to.

Then He heard Jade say hi to him.

Nevermind.

Then he heard Kala's question.

'Err, i believe it was Rest in peace by Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And I seem to sing instead of daydream.'

Then he heard the boom-tube and realised the stupid error he had made a split second before it, and Used his pychosis to make everyone leap out of the way, and then quickly grabbed out Pyschically paralysing both Jade and Aries before either could do anything stupid.

This is Not a trap, I invited both of you here. Aries is not a member of the sinestro Corps he simply has a ring of theirs, and Jade is new, Okay so basically no fighting or i will hurt both of you.

Jade felt her ring tell her that a burst from a power ring was headed this way. She felt jj get them out of the way, and listened as he spoke.

"Well at least im still the only official gl here hehe. And don't worry about me fighting, im more of the defensive type person so far. And even if we did fight, i think i would have the advantage with a real ring and real power heh."
