just wondering

I totally understand where you are coming from.

I have often said that I am not a writer, I am a story teller. I write my stories as if I was telling my friends. So, I depend on my friends here at Lit to review them.

Writing erotic stories does tend to get cliche-ish. We are writing about sex. I have learned that there are wonderful authors out there that can help you describe the act of making love in such ways that it becomes quite tangible. They way they can describe the smell of a room....the feel of cloth or skin.

I have a long way to go to be able to do that ~ but I do believe that with each story you write, you tend to get better.

Good luck to you and remember, everyone here on Lit supports one another, so don't hesitate to PM and ask for help!

Elbiscayne: I'd say this kind of thread is exactly the way Hmmm should spend his time. At the moment, we as authors know a little bit more than him about the craft of erotica and he's learning something from us to become a better writer.

Sure, he could've written a story in the time he spent writing and replying to this thread (although it'd have to have been quite a short one), but now he'll go away and write a better story. Surely that's worth striving for?

the truth is in the telling.
