Today I bought two Dallas Stars throw pillows and a small Dallas Stars blanket to cover my armchair with... this of course goes along with the 45 some odd other Dallas Stars items I have around in my apartment.

And right now I am looking on the net for a replica 1999 Stanley Cup champions banner to buy and then hang in my room.

At least no one can say I'm not a fan...

Dude, sorry about your Titans, they put up a hell of a fight. McNair is a stud.

Question: Aren't you Canadian? How come you like the Stars?

I'm sorry bout the Titans too.. but the Raiders were just a better team. It's funny how everyone talks about how McNair earned a ton of respect, yet in my eyes Gannon opened up mine big time. I really didn't think he was that good a QB until Sunday.

I am Canadian.. The first NHL game I ever saw was the North Stars in Edmonton to play the Oilers.. Of course as a 7 year old you want to cheer for the winning team and it turned out Minnesota pulled one out that night. I've stuck with them ever since.

And I've always liked the green and gold uni's they had...

check out www.gamefaqs.com and read their poll.

What do you know of this?!

Too early to say if The Phantom will be as good as they promise... Right now I keep thinking about the old Turbo Grafx 16 and how that bombed.

They are taking on not just one or two, but three big time video game devlopers... two of those three of course having revenues coming from more than just video games.

If they can do what they say, then they will be huge, but right now I'm not holding my breath.

True True

The one thing I am already leary about when it comes to The Phantom system is how they are saying it will be the best out there. That may be so.. but damn, how does a company come out of nowhere to announce they are about to be better than Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft?

Remember the XFL? Remember how they pitched themselves as better than the NFL?

It didn't matter that it was good football.. no one gave a shit becuase of the audacity that something so new from a man who had never been in pro sports before hand had the balls to say they were instantly better than something that was very established and well loved.

Gannon has always been good, I've been watching him since his KC days. I'm not really sure why he was always a second stringer in his earlier career. Sometimes guys just mature, or maybe they just get stuck behind a great stater or are with the wrong team.

His main attribute besides still having a great arm and being fairly mobile for an older player is his leadership qualities and decision-making, his ability to read defences, etc. It all comes with experience. I've heard he really commands respect from his offense though, he doesn't take any shit from younger players and it takes a while for them to get used to it, but they come around. I've always liked the guy.

He's the prototype Al Davis "second chance" player. A guy late in his career that has experience and maturity and can make good decisions on the field. I've been waiting for him to come along since Plunkett.

I think it was late in the first half when Rice screwed up a route.. and the next thing you see is Gannon letting him know about it. I was so impressed with how he took charge out on the field.. even when dealing with an HOF'er.

My main issue - and honestly it was partly because of my bias towards McNair - was that I couldn't understand how he was an MVP when he had guys like Rice, Brown and Porter to throw to and an offencive line that was one of the leagues best.

But based on what I saw him do Sunday, the way he took that offence and controlled it.. That is when I thought "Damn, this guy is an MVP.."

awww...feel the love and mutual respect growing. :D

football: it's a beautiful thing!

Yeah, he can get hot once in a while, but the great majority of the time he's a pretty calm guy. He's got a good offense to work with...well actually the best offense, but he took advantage of it and put up great numbers this year. You can't make a real good argument for him not getting it. I can't anyway, but I'm biased.

It's pretty hard not to have any respect after a game like that.. It was just a great game period. :)

Most fans hate teams when they move. It's refreshing to see someone who acts differently.

Are the Wild any good? I haven't really been following things.

TB4p

I seriously though of changing teams to a more local team when they moved.. but the internet has been great to follow the Stars. I know more about them than people here know about the Flames.

As for the Wild? They are actually pretty good right now.. they could possibly get a playoff spot if they stick to how they've been playing.

So after an hour or two on Ebay I have found I can go from obsessed to.. well.. whatever the next level above obsessed is.

A leather jacket.. a rug.. shot glasses.. regular glasses.. autographed stuff.. old Dallas newspapers.. bobbleheads.. a paperweight in the shape of an oversized championship ring..

A freekin paperweight!! That would put me over the top..
