The "fuck the man" approach in my handwriting started in fifth grade. The teacher wanted me to turn the paper more so that I would have more slant in my writing. She said that all proper handwriting has slant.

So I turned the fucking thing ninety degrees.

From there, my handwriting just felt more and more repressed.
