It's not for everyone. I got hooked on it when I was about 13 and had to take a reading class ... she said we could read whatever we wanted as long as we wrote a book report on it. I just happened to pick up a horror book. And then King not too long after that. I got hooked. Books, movies.. yada yada.
I like all movies pretty much though (well, I rarely watch chick flix and lovey dovey stuff. I'll watch them, but I'm more of a Fantasy/Sci-Fi Horror and Comedy girl
I did work at Blockbuster for 3 years at one point in my life and grew up with a dad that watched movies all the time.. kinda in my blood to like them

My brother is very similar. Loves King, horror, movies. My family has always loved watching movies and watches a lot of them. I moved out way back when and quickly decided that I didn't care for movies much.
I argued with my dad once about a movie having no moral. He replied quickly, "Fuck morals." I guess we didn't see eye-to-eye on the purpose of a movie.
