Facebook does not yet have enough evidence to determine exactly who was behind this round of fake accounts, though says it some of the deleted pages had connections with Russian-linked accounts that were previously disabled.

Among the pages deleted was a popular event page called "No Unite The Right 2 - D.C.," a counterprotest to the looming white supremacist rally taking place in D.C. on August 12.

The only problem? D.C. organizers say the page was legit, and they're angry at Facebook for taking it down.

The "No Unite the Right 2" organizers have since created a replacement Facebook event called "Nazis Not Welcome No Unite The Right 2."

Several tweets swiftly condemned the idea of Metro giving special trains to white nationalists, but Heaphy said while many disagree, it makes sense for safety.

Patriot Prayer Vancouver meeting point moved; hundreds head to Portland


150 Patriot Prayer supporters stood by in Vancouver on Saturday, awaiting bus transportation that would take them into the action.

Gibson, who lives in Vancouver, announced this week that shuttles with armed guards on them would be available to pick supporters up from the Grand Central Retail Center just east of downtown to take them into Portland.

But security and tow trucks milled around the Fred Meyer parking lot at 2500 Columbia House Blvd., ready to pick up anyone who left their car at the private shopping center. Portland-based commercial real estate firm NAI Elliot, which manages the property, announced Friday that anyone who parked except to shop or work would be towed at their own expense.

One woman was hit by a flash-bang grenade and went to the hospital with cuts and a possible arm fracture, her boyfriend told WW.

Oregonian reporter Eder Campuzano went to the hospital when he was hit in the head by a projectile thrown by counter-protesters.

Counter-protesters had been chanting "Who do you protect? Who do you serve?" all day, pointing to the larger number of officers facing antifascists as evidence of biased treatment. (The antifascist crowd was, however, significantly larger than the far-right gathering, which may have explained some of the attention it received.)

The Portland police actions today drew immediate rebuke from left-wing groups. Multiple observers described the police use of explosive devices as more aggressive than ever before at Portland protests.

Allegations of unequal treatment from Portland police have plagued city officials since at least last June, when officers kettles hundreds of counterprotesters at one of Gibson's earliest rallies.

A Portland police officer also told investigators in the City Auditor's Office that he viewed the right-wing protesters as "more mainstream" than those on the left.


Katie Shepherd, a journalist for Willamette Week covering the protests, reported that Portland police claimed to have seen protesters throw bottles and rocks at officers. Shepherd said she did not witness anything that would have instigated flash bangs to be deployed.

Charlottesville, VA reflects what has happened to states around our country. There is a divide, that splits the population. Almost half stand with Republicans, almost half stand with Democrats. Virginia General Assembly, refused to add Charlottesville to a list of cities where open carry of guns is prohibited. “While you can’t bring an aerosol can or pocket knife into a restricted area, you can bring an AR15,” he says.

That last argument was breathtaking in its cynicism, co-opting the language city officials had used in the House Bill 2 battle two years ago, when appeals to “diversity” referred to the prospect of treating gay and transgender people as citizens worthy of the same consideration as the rest of us. To use the same language in the service of the RNC bid was both tactically brilliant and shameless; I’m eager to see just how “inclusive” the convention, assuming it’s awarded to Charlotte this week, will be toward people of color, and gay people, and people who happen not to approve of the idea of Donald Trump as a two-term president.


After the vote, a small cluster of Trump supporters set up on East Fourth Street outside the Government Center, waving American, Republican, and Trump flags, celebrating and occasionally yelling insults at passers-by. “I ain’t ashamed of my vote,” their leader said at one point, “and I ain’t ashamed of my President.” You could view it either as a symbolic victory for inclusion or a threat, or maybe both. Our city’s about to learn which, and what consequences, intended or not, will arise from its decision.

ATU Local 689 President Jackie Jeter said members of the union, the majority of whom are people of color, “draw the line” at providing special service for supporters of a group that espouses white nationalism.

“Local 689 is proud to provide transit to everyone for the many events we have in D.C. including the March [for] Life, the Women’s March and Black Lives Matter,” Jeter said. “We draw the line at giving special accommodation to hate groups and hate speech.”

Considering that the courts granted Metro the ability to deny ads on buses and trains that are ‘issue-oriented,’ we find it hypocritical for [Wiedefeld] to make these unprecedented special accommodations for a hate group,” Jeter said.

Heaphy said members of the transit workers union were within their rights to refuse to operate a train intended for white nationalists.

“Law enforcement has this professional obligation to protect speech, regardless of how hateful it is,” he said, “but transit workers don’t sign up for that.”

Olivia Katbi Smith, co-chair of the Portland Democratic Socialists of America, said the police were not provoked.

A Portland woman was later admitted to hospital after being hit with a flash bang round.

Portland Investigating Police Actions Toward Antifa Protesters at Far-Right Rally

One antifa protester also said one of the police flash-bang grenade canisters cut his head through his helmet. A friend of the victim told HuffPost that “he would be dead if he wasn’t wearing a helmet.”

People and groups, including the ACLU, quickly criticized police for being too aggressive toward the anti-fascist protesters in order to protect the far-right demonstrators.

The Portland protests came just a week before the anniversary of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. To mark the occasion, white nationalists are planning an Aug. 12 rally in Washington, D.C. They are expected to be also met with counterprotesters. .

The head of the Oregon branch of the American Civil Liberties Union has criticized the way the Portland Police Bureau handled Saturday's demonstrations.

"The Portland Police Bureau's response to protest is completely unacceptable in a free society," David Rogers said in a statement issued Sunday night. "The repeated use of excessive force, and the targeting of demonstrators based on political beliefs are a danger to the First Amendment rights of all people. We call on the Portland Police Bureau, Mayor Wheeler, and Chief Outlaw to immediately end the use of weapons, munitions, and explosives against protesters.


Saturday, some said police seemed to act mostly against those protesting the presence of the extreme-right demonstrators, using stun grenades and what appeared to be rubber bullets against them


gsgs comment-This may have more to do with funding of the police department, than the behaviour of protesters that do not want Nazi twerps marching in Portland. The budget requires that the police use up what they have, and show a need for more weapons, more gear, more para-military vehicles.

Many witnesses say that the hostile interaction between the permit holders and the protesters was winding down. Mr. Big Nazi left some of his more aggressive twerps in town, before he skipped town, and took his tail back across the border. His left-beind/rearguard twerps were ready to engage in violence.

Hopefully, there are video clips, to show what happened.

Narly a year after protesters last clashed on the streets of Berkeley, groups on the left and right returned Sunday ready for confrontation.

Berkeley police, in a shift from tactics used last year, worked to prevent the sides from ever meeting. The hundreds of protesters on the left and far-left, who started with a “Stop the hate” rally among themselves at Ohlone Park at 11 a.m., marched to Civic Center Park but were met with lines of police in riot gear who prevented them from entering the grounds despite multiple attempts.

About 200 other people had made it into the park earlier in the day, sparking a number of small shouting and shoving matches there into the late afternoon.

"The fascists thought this was going to be their year,” Heinecke said. “We’ve denied them that in Berkeley, Charlottesville, San Francisco and Boston. I hope America wakes up and realizes there’s no two sides here. It’s about stopping the metastasization of a cancer unleashed by the Trump regime.”

It appears conspiracy jackhole Alex Jones is finally getting the free market treatment he so richly deserves, because everybody and their mom is deleting his podcasts and videos and pages from their internets. Even Facebook!

BuzzFeed reports on the tyranny being inflicted upon the the Alex Jones Gay Frog TV Show, where he does funny routines about how Barack Obama is creating an army of Illuminati Beyoncés to take over the world, and also how literally every mass shooting is a false flag event put on by crisis actors in order to TAKE YER GUNS -- even Sandy Hook, where all those tiny children were murdered, which is why all those children's parents are suing the fuck out of Alex Jones. Oh yeah, and didn't Jones just threaten to murder special counsel Robert Mueller or something? HE DID.

Apple has removed the entire library for five of Infowars' six podcasts from its iTunes and Podcasts apps, BuzzFeed News has learned. Among the podcasts, which were removed from Apple's iTunes directory, are the show War Room and the popular Alex Jones Show podcast, which is hosted daily by the prominent conspiracy theorist.

Following the move, Spotify and Facebook have also acted to remove content made by Jones.

Couldn't of happened to a more despicable lunatic than Alex Jones, but I worry if what this represents is a new era of censorship. Taking off Infowars is the easy first step. Most people would applaud silencing that blowhard, but what's the second and third ones going to be now that these companies have taken this one? who else will they label as conspiracy monger or fake news peddler?
