Just practicing

Artifex, thats good advice, thank you. The problem with resizing by percentages is that I still don't know what equates to 150X150 pixels. Thats providing, ofcourse, that I can get the reductions saved when I actually make them.

I'll report any advances I happen to make, if I happen to make any, lol.

I really appreciate the fact that the people in this forum are so kind and helpful. Thank you. [/B][/QUOTE]

Being an engineer, it seems an obvious task for some simple math. If your original is 320x240. Then multiplying by .5 (or 50%) will end up as an image 160x120. Which is too big, but very close to what you need. Try 46% and you will get just under 150x115.

Well damn. I got it to browse for the pic, opened it, and a tiny pop up appeared stating that "paint cannot read the file" and that it is not a valid bitmap image. Does this mean I need to reformat it to bitmap, just to work on it, and then format it back to jpg when I'm done? Will that work?

Oh please, you know me Artifex...is anything that simple for me?

Math is not my thing. Computers aren't my thing. Sizing pics isn't my thing, but here I sit, stubbornly attempting what I ought to know by now that I just can't do.

Thank you, I'll figure it out.

*wonders out loud*;)

Why did it change the color of the pic?

Why is it posting it as a file, complete with the paint box?

Why won't it let me reformat it back to jpg, when I save it?

Will it fit as an av?

It changed colors because it went to eight bit from 16 bit. (think as if it is a package of crayola crayons.) 8 bit images can only have the basic 8 colors in them, no blending. 16 bit images can use all the colors of the great big crayon boxes.

It is posting as a file becuse it is a .bmp file type. Not a .jpg as you would have wanted.

This image at 160x120 is just a bit big for your 150x150 target.

It seems i will need to load adobe photo deluxe if this gets any more tangled.

keep mucking about. its the best way to learn.

I did it!!!! :D I don't have a clue how, but I did it!! I want to thank hotstik69 for the link you sent me for the resizer, that was the best thing anyone could have done. It does EVERYTHING for you, which was a little tricky for me cause I sat forever trying to figure out how to save it. I finally did a search in My Computer and realized it had saved it AND set up its own folder for the resizes...too cool! Man, I am so tickled! I do wonder, though, did I do it too small? It seems a little oddly shaped....

If anyone needs an easy resizer, here is the link:

You have NO idea what a big deal this is for me...I've had to depend on others to resize my pics for a year now, and that really bothered me. I still cannot believe I did it, lol! I called T on the phone, and I was just squealing!.:D He was rather proud of me, too. I REALLY appreciate your help, thank you so much!

I do have a bunch of pics that I haven't posted yet, but I've got a ton of errands to do right now. Maybe tonight....:)

I don't really know your program but they all should have an option where you can change from % to pixels. Is there an arrow next to the % box? Or is there Options box or a similar menu there?
