I say it's about time. When I was in the army and being gay would get you kicked out ... well, that's dumb. The rationale, as I recall, was that you were a security risk because a bad guy could flip you and make you an informant, otherwise he'd tell your secret.
But if it's OK to be in the military and gay, then the bad guy can threaten all day and it won't make any difference.
