I wrote this as paul c a while ago. while I wait for my account to be rer-activated I thought I'd place it here as the basis of a writing challenge. No prizes.

See what you can do using the first two words of each line or alternatively come up with a set of your own.

Normal, Natural and Necessary.

It’s normal that I should feel the way I do.
It’s natural that I should love you as I do.
It’s necessary for me to be with you everyday.

It’s normal that I touch you as I do.
It’s natural to want you everyday.
It’s necessary for me to long the way I do.

It’s normal for me to doubt.
It’s natural for me to worry.
It’s necessary for me to hide.

It’s normal for me to look into your eyes.
It’s natural to wonder at what I see.
It’s necessary for me to tell you.

I know I should polish this one up a bit but I'm not a great one for re-writes and revisions.

LOL, that's a little too much alliteration for me. But it does manage to be interesting... maybe I'll give it a shot, later on.

It’s normal that I pull my celery (thank you Pablo Neruda)
It's natural that I love it
It’s necessary, every so often.

I love minimalism when it works

don't tell me...Bukowski inspired?

complacency

It's normal to abhor
It's natural to a bore
It's necessary to a whore

It's normal to feel the sun
It's natural to wear this skin
It's necessary to the soul to skinny dip occassionally.

Neruda
big celery puller himself
I'm not dogmatic, Tath. All of the greats wrote crap, TS Eliot wrote crap sometimes, Pound wrote a ton of it. I'm sure Yeats and Dylan Thomas did also, they just had the luck to be able to bury it in Celtic blarny.
On the necessity of critics

It's normal to write crap.
It's natural to think it's great.
It's necessary to get a second opion.

Or should I do it as a haiku?

Now is the season
of crap Springs, pray for Winter
to kill these crap things

(note seasonal references)

oooo
Now is the season of crap Springs
pray for Winter to kill these crap things

it rhymes

It's crap, either way
- thank you 1201

Question is it an oxymoron
for shitting on crap?

I write crap I'm pround of it
It came from the ____ <insert organ here
Ergo, you must love it.

WRT the bolded portion of your post -- no, it's not an oxymoron, it's redundant to shit on crap, however to have a delicious shit is an oxymoron...

Ugh,
consider the life of a dung beetle
It's normal to eat shit
It's natural in my niche
It's necessary that I find it delicious
Elst I'd be puking everyday

Will NOT make rude comment that sprung to mind on the grounds that someone somewhere may be mortally offended

Do Dung Beetles shit shit?

All beetles shit. Name me something that doesn't.

so why would these beetles be called Dung Beetles?

not to be confused with anything from Liverpool who were originally called the Dug Beatles. But they dropped the Dug part. So they wouldn't be confused. Being from Liverpool was bad enough.

Now THAT'S the rude comment I didnt make lol glad you said it and not meeeeeee lol

I realize that the people that do it right have a tough job, wading through some good-awful stuff. It is a tight-rope walk. Pressure to praise shit. But some of them praise shit either because they don't have a clue, or for more nefarious reasons.

Sometimes, just sometimes I feel sorry for them.

I'm with you there but how do you tell someone they are a shit awful poet without hurting feelings? I've had my share of cutting remarks on here and OK that's why we tick the box for comments but it bloody hurts and if I read something that makes me cringe with its awfulness I'm not going to tell them. It's the English manners thing ... politeness at all costs!!

Part of learing is unlearning.

yeh, I meant to say part of learning is un-lemming :rose:

It's normal to make a statement
It's natural for some to disagree
It’s necessary to recognise that fact, blah, blah, blah, for real progress to be made.
