for those of you that have posted pics here on Lit...

I am thinking of posting a pic of myself in my Member Profile, but I'm not really sure if I should! I'm kinda scared.

Has anyone ever recognized you? Do you get wierdos harrassing you? Would you recommend it?

Go for it. You'll get some nice emails and some wacky ones. Probably not anyone harrassing you though. Whether you're ever recognized or not I think depends partly on what kind of pic you post! Post one that shows your face and I'd say you have a much better chance of being identified by someone who knows you. It's a small world afterall.

It's something everyone has to decide for themselves. By asking this question, I'm inferring, and I could be wrong, that you're not totally comfortable with it. If that's so, I would wait. You don't HAVE to post a pic...or you can. Like I said, totally up to each individual.

Well guys, sorry to disappoint, but I wasn't going to do a nudie pic :)

The one that I'm thinking of adding is just me in regular clothes... with my face showing.

That's the only part I'm unsure about.

Body parts are body parts, but a face will be the real you.

Can being identified at Lit hurt you in anyway in RL? Job? Family? Friends? If the answer is yes, I wouldn't include your face. Too risky because it really is a small world.

LET'S DO IT, SEXYREDHEAD

Go for it, SR. I posted one and have gotten nothing but positive feedbacks (not that I'm a prize or anything).

Well, I for one am terribly dissapointed that it's not going to be a nude. ;p

Check out the pictures of Liquid Lisa. (they're nudes, but it's her face tht's pertinent here) She used the "starflash" graphic in Adobe PhotDeluxe (according to one of her posts) to get the effect.

PrintShop Pro has several different effects for processing a picture, including transforming a photo into a colored chalk drawing or BW charcoal drawing. Most any photo processing software bundled with a scanner or digital camera can do similar things.

You can post a picture transformed in such a way that it gives a feeling of who you are and how you look without enough details for friends to be positive that it's you.

On the other hand, I'm in favor of just a good picture that shows you at your best. I've got a total of eight pictures posted here. None are nekkid pikchers, and all show my face. I posted them so others would have a face to go with my words if they wanted. I like to see the same sort of picture on other's profiles, so I have some idea of who I'm talking to. Since I don't want to talk to your chest or crotch, a picture without a face in the profile doesn't do much for me.

I'm a self admitted Dirty Old Man, and don't really care who knows I come to this site, it doesn't bother me that people might recognise me. But then I'm not female, nor am I some Adonis type that women stalk, so being recognizable isn't a problem for me. Pretty women do have different concerns about being recognized.

In the end, it's going to come down to what you feel comfortable with. I just wanted to let you know that there are alternatives to just scanning a picture or dumping the output from a digital camera on the net.

Thank you, guys!

I don't know... perhaps Patryn's right... I'm not yet sure, so I shouldn't do it.

I may just do the nude thing and post without my face... and just work my way up :) Who knows!

Go for it. It couldn't be any worse than getting propositioned because of your handle every time you open your email.

My theory, for what it's worth, is that if someone sees it they can't really say much. After all, in order for them to see your picture on a sex site they have to be on the sex site too. I have to admit though, I haven't got the balls to put my picture, yet. Maybe I'll do that today. :)

:D just for you!!! I'd be willing to let you email me all your pictures.
And Id ever so carefully go over them for you, to see if there ok to post.

Mind this is a totaly unselfish act on my part. ;)

Excellent point! I never thought of it that way!

And my theory is that they could always make trouble by using a poisoned pen letter or some other method of remaining anonymous, stay safe play safe.

Did I say that I disagree with Cheyenne ( and Gimpy this time).

ps I would have posted this under a guest posting and removed my signature just to prove a point, but I would rather you know where this is coming from.

Ezzy is right

Can you tell I've had a long day at work? Of course, Ezzy is correct. I'm not an evil person at heart and I forgot for a second about people who would do the poison pen routine. Another good point. Too bad it cancels out the earlier one!

I understand your point Ezzy

Luckily for me I have no reason to hide my identity, or so I think. I can understand how some people do need to keep their identity secret though. Maybe I'll be sorry for putting my picture here, but I'll take my chances. Besides, anyone who knows me could figure out who I am by things in my posts.
