Jumping into the fire ... Should the entire Non-Con category be eliminated?

Was it from Amazon? Try selecting "Defective" from the list vs "No longer needed", that usually works
It's a long lump of rubber (it's just tentacle shaped)!

What woman WOULDN'T want to try shoving that inside her?

My wife must not be "normal"!

Any ban of non-con essentially kills 90% of the Mind Control category as someone under mind control isn’t truly consenting. But I can’t recall seeing anyone aiming to ban that category.

As soon as someone posted the argument that the existence of the category and those stories "normalizes" acceptance of rape, that sent this whole thread into the cesspool of authors shooting at each other over what is "normal".

Really? Non-con should not be "normal"?

Look at all of the LitE categories and tell us what else is "normalizing" deviant behavior with stories promoting bad thoughts!

Indeed, and it would wipe out 90% of vampire fiction too.

After carefully reading through the comments, I'm wondering if those who are for banning r/nc read stories anywhere else but Lit?

Say, Crime fiction, which is far more popular than erotica?

Those stories feature rape, incest, torture, snuff, murder, dismemberment, etc.

So what now?

Do we ban the entire genre?

There is a current best seller called Alchemized which is targeted to women. It gegan life as a Harry Potter universe Drago/Hermione romance crossed with "the Handmaiden's Tale" fan fiction. It features rape after rape and forced breeding of the Hermione character. The author identifies as non-binary. Non-consent is as mainstream as possible. I've read parts of Alchemized there is stuff in there that is far grosser and far more objectionable than ANYTHING I've EVER posted here and the bulk of my material is non-consent. If Lit bans it. It will just go somewhere else!

A long time ago, somewhere in the forum I made a point that I could name a number of Stephen King best sellers that don't pass the r/nc/underaged LITmus test.

Sorry for that awful pun but I've been waiting a while to use it.

No, censorship isn't the answer to problems. In literary works, rape has been allowed to be a major part of the plots of every genre, except erotica. That makes sites like sexstroies, sol, and others prosper from that aspect alone. Maybe loosen up the rules here or don't, but don't eliminate it.

I post somewhere else that I won't name but this is the list of tags you can choose from on allowed stories:

side note #1: Purity test: give yourself 1 point for each category that you didn't realize was actually a thing
side note #2: point-and-click tags is way more efficient than the Literotica system of type and hope you can spell.

I'm starting to think that these threads are on some kind of automatic timer. Every X days, a topic about non-con, validity of ratings, or AI, appears again, and again, and again, and again... Ad infinitum.

It's Laurel trolling you, folks. The more you drone about this, the less you write. She clearly needs some respite.
True, true. But this thread was up to four pages before noon on its first day.

Ok, so every piece of fiction (erotic or otherwise) shouldn't contain any acts of violence, drug use, stealing, jay-walking, etc. lest it be interpreted as encouraging them?
Jay-walking!!! I'm sure it's the most under-enforced law we've got. Lack of enforcement teaches lack of respect!!! Soon EVERYONE will be jay-walking. We gotta stop it!

It's a gateway crime. Everyone knows that. Today you're ignoring the crosswalk, tomorrow you're murdering random people.
