Journey to the Past

"What are you DOING with him, Jessica? You may not realize it, but that man is a chronic womanizer. His reputation precedes him. He's dangerous. Dangerous!"

It was as if Jessica had gone into another trance, "He is not dangerous, he's like a big misunderstood... puppy." Jessica had to fight back a smile, then her smile fell as he spoke.

"There was a young woman... a servant girl who worked at the Smythe estate. Her name was Emily. She was murdered about 9 months ago. They found her body... badly mauled, as if by some sort of animal. She was rumored to be having dalliances with Eric. The police have been unable to prove it, but he was a suspect. And... her body was found on his estate!

"Please Jessica, I beg you... don't put yourself in such danger!"

Jessica turned a pale white but her color returned quickly, Eric wouldn't hurt her. The ring around her neck as she spoke,"One might think you're jealous." Jessica grinned.

"Jealous? JEALOUS?" Owen practically roared. "He's a fiend... a savage! An animal, Jessica! You would dally with THAT?"

Hearing the commotion, Eric had stepped outside and approached them.

"What seems to be the trouble here?" he barked.

"Nothing of concern to you!" Owen shot back.

"I choose to make it my concern. I hardly think the business of a common house servant would come above..."

"Above those of a noble? Oh really, 'Sir' Eric?" Owen spat. "Have you told her of your dalliances with Emily from the Smythe estate?"

Eric fell silent, his eyes glaring at Owen.

"Above those of a noble? Oh really, 'Sir' Eric?" Owen spat. "Have you told her of your dalliances with Emily from the Smythe estate?"

It was odd this was odd. "Stop it the both you!" Jessica yelled. She glared, her eyes focused mainly on Owen. "It is none of your concern whom I dally with!" Her voice had switched from the shy californian girl to the now pompous haughty British girl accent.

"Im certain that Lord Erics dalliances were all in the past. I don't wish to hear about what's in the past. Because it is just that, the past."

Lady jessica smiled,"Besides if Eric was truly an animal, I doubt he would hurt me and maybe thats exactly what I want."

"Now if you'll excuse me.." Jessica walked off, praying Eric would follow her.

Owen stared after her in disbelief. His eyes locked with Eric's and the two men glared at one another for a moment before Eric turned on his heels and followed Jessica.

Owen angrily stormed away. This monster had cast his spell upon her and she wouldn't listen to reason now. He made his way to the groundskeeper storage shed and climbed down the steps into the underground storage area. Owen was the only person who really ever came down here. Now he'd begun to assemble... or re-assemble, the voice in his head corrected, the tools he'd need for the task ahead. Jessica needed to be kept safe and Eric needed to be stopped... once and for all eternity.

Jessica headed upstairs to pack her things. She grabbed a few nighties, some lounging clothes and dresses in case the occasion called for it. The ring against her neck sparked and suddenly she felt faint. Voices, arguments rang through her head.

Shed heard Eric following behind her so she knew he was in there with her.

Flashback 19th century

Lady Jessica had decided to run away. Everyone in her house were losing their minds, all claiming that Lord Eric could possibly be dangerous. They claimed to never have seen him with any woman except for the gardeners mother.

That was just silly. In light of that, she decided she would run away from home and be with Eric. He'd promised her eternity and though he turned into a strange creature she knew that he was still her lover.

"Going somewhere Jessica?"

Jessica seemed in a haze and tried to push the thoughts away."Im ready."
