John's Rustic Romper Room

They were yummy and really easy to make, the batter is made in no-time, it needs two hours to rise though.

Baking was easy, since I don't have the rings one should use, I used old (I bought them when the girls were very little) forms to make Micky Mouse, flower, piglet and heart shaped pancakes with.

I'm glad they turned out for you Dutchess.

Good morning all. Thanksgiving weekend is winding down and now it's time to get back at it while working towards Christmas. We went out to eat last night at a mall and I was amazed at the crazy number of people there! I'm so glad I don't shop over this weekend, it's just not worth it to me, but it was shocking. :)

Hello All.
Hope everyone ( even those out of the country) had a wonderful Thanksgiving/ weekend!
Cooked till I dropped - had about 14 people over but it was all good.

So done with the leftovers had them all weekend. May just freeze the rest.

I do not shop on Black Friday - does anyone else? Dutchrain do they have anything like that where you are? The stores are open starting some even on Thanksgiving or in the middle of the night Friday.

I am already done with my Christmas shopping - all I have to do is wrap.

Well all have a great Monday! Kind of hard to go back after being off for so long.

Lalalalola 💋🎄

Good morning all!

Have a good day at school John
Dutchess, I cooked the turkey in a bag so it came out perfect and right on time for my dinner. ;)
Cookie baking may commence at some point today, depends on my energy level after the laundry is done and I tackle the manager's office of my apartment complex this morning. Microwave caught on fire from electrical short Tuesday night, notice of rent increase for my lease renewal this month showed up on Wednesday, attached to my door and sometime Friday night my heater quit working.. Thankfully it wasn't earlier in the week when temps were down to 30. But we are expecting another storm front the end of the week..

Happy Monday everyone!

Wow Sunbunny - a lot going on! Good luck with all.

Thank you Lola! Heater issue is handled and I am warm again.. :D
New microwave is ordered but unknown when it will arrive and I will still be stopping to speak to the manager about the rent increase. She got it lowered last year so maybe she can still work some magic for me!

Good morning everyone

There used to be something like your Black friday over here: The Start Of The Winter-Sales, somewhere in January I believe. By law the shops weren't allowed to start it before a certain date, so 'everyone' ran to the shops on that day. Government however has deemed it nonsense to regulate the start of The Sales years ago.

Shops start their sales whenever they want now.

Sunbunny, I am glad you are warm again!

Lola, you picked yourself up again?

Munky!

John, dear host, did you overcome your shock?

It was great to see Munky stop by. Sorry I've been out of touch, just been supper busy, semester is drawing to a close.

Hope everyone is doing well and look forward to hearing from you all when you have time.

Hi John.... I'm enjoying a Long Island Iced Tea and thrilled that I finally have off tomorrow. Black Friday Weekend hell is finally over.

Good evening everyone!

The day is slowly ending here already, I have been productive, made the girls thingies to put their thingies in from the pockets I cut off of jeans ... Sewed them randomly on red and black sturdy fabric, made loops at the tops and ready I was!

Is it like a wall hanging with little pockets?

I'm working on three knitted scarves for Christmas gifts.... I never learn to finish one project before starting another.

Yes, exactly! I knew the thingies had a name ...

Oh dear, I am just the same. I was (still am) working on patchwork cushions for them, and had those pockets lying around. Well, at least I have one present ready for each of them.

I am awful at knitting. One can always see it if some time passed between start, middle, middle, middle, middle and finish because one part will be quite lose and an other much faster.

Good luck with your scarfs!

That's a funny image of your scarf... But that makes it handmade. I'm terrible at starting projects and getting bored once I learn the pattern, stitches, colors....

I have a beautiful counted cross stitch baby announcement of tumbling teddy bears... I started it before my daughter was born and I'm close to finished. She almost 20 yo.... Yes, I'm that bad!

My daughter yells at me because I knit sweaters for my dog and finish them. But she's only 9 lbs and won't outgrow them.

Good morning everyone.

I'm in finals crunch time, 2 more weeks and the projects and studying are piling up, but all is good.

Glad to hear yellow_rose is getting ready for Christmas, and of course the Dutchess and all of her projects. I think you ladies are busier than I could ever be!!

Hope you all have a great great day!!!

Hi Sunny.... If I could get Barnes and Noble and my TGIFridays in one place, I would be unbelievably happy.

I prefer the Hastings back home to the Barnes & Noble but I go with what I have. :)
The thingies sound like fun, Dutchess!
When Niece and I went shopping the other night I got more yarn for scarves, almost through the only skein I bought of multi-colored red, pink & oranges. I should have bought two, I didn't realize it was off brand and a third less in size. I should run out on that one tonight and will have to set it aside for now. But I also have teal. :D
And I just have to say, circle loom. Makes much quicker work of the knitting for non knitters like myself.

Yellow Rose, sounds like a baby blanket for her first born!
