John's Rustic Romper Room

Just got back. Rode 4 miles. Not a long ways, but I haven't ridden since I started school and the hammies were screaming at me! :) I have just decided to get back on and continue losing some more weight and getting back into better shape and can't do that if I don't get out there.

Now it's time for a shower then a Vet Day event at the park. Enjoy everyone!
 
It was a beautiful day here, not only the sun was shining; it was also great to meet a lot of friends, all dressed up in there carnival fineries (like I was) first waiting (a few glasses of white wine helped to shorten the wait enormously) until 11.11 AM to find out who the next Prince would be, and then chatting each other up at lunch.

Vacation is wonderful so far.. fly out this morning.. seems sister's plans and mine vary a bit, will be spending more time in Vegas than expected as she wants to go up early and celebrate her birthday before everyone arrives for the races. But it's all good.. :D

Good morning everyone. It's looking like everyone is getting busy, maybe because of the holidays. I hope you all have a great day. It's hump day, but I'm feeling a bit uninspired. Maybe it's a test I have on the horizon, either way, I need to snap out of it soon.
 
I actually pulled out a reasonably productive day. Got some painting done for a project due Friday, began studying for a big test in Art History on Monday and have some direction finally on a research paper I've been struggling with.

Considering the way the day began and that I've been a crab all day, I'm pretty pleased with it all.

I may take a little time for myself in the morning, but have another big study day tomorrow. Hope you all had a great day and look forward to hearing from some tomorrow.
 
Just a quick check in. .. vacation going well, wonderful to be at sister's. Tomorrow back up to Vegas!
 
Hi everyone :kiss:

I am a bit busy at the moment, I decided to activate my patience and my not so very great artistic abilities, then decided to combine them with my meagre sewing skills to make the girls patchwork cushions for christmas. A very short moment I even played with the idea to make them patchwork throws for their beds. I quickly came to my senses when I remembered the last big project I started when I was nineteen (a crochet throw for a kingsize bed) took a mere twenty-five years to finish.

I raided all closets (cleaned them too) for fabric and clothes no-one wears anymore, found a sack with discarded jeans and some blouses and shirts someone wanted to donate to the Red Cross a while back, and have cut all clothes to pieces along the seams. I made some nice combinations for each cushion. I did some research on google for designs, and printed some. Those are cut out too. I had to add some colors to two cushions (well, I mean the heaps of fabric for each of course) and take one away from the third.

So ... The next days I will be cutting fabric according to the patterns.

Yep, it is friday, the start of a busy weekend! *grins* Tomorrow I have to lay the table for 110 persons (not on my own) and Sunday is the meet&greet lunch of a neighbors organization I am a part of.

One cake for dessert is done, the other one in the oven.
 
Thank you both for the well wishes to win.. doubt I'll even drop a dime in a machine. Lol. Spending time with family and friends today. Tomorrow its up to the Bull Ring at the raceway for my nephew's last race of the season.
 
Even without the gambling Vegas can be fun. What kind of races? The bullring sounds like small track stuff, lots of fun.
 
Heading to the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown LA this morning. I'm hoping it's a good day. Been pretty miserable lately and really don't have any tangible reasons why.

How's everyone's weekend so far?

About feeling miserable and not knowing why: some very ugly things have happened the last four weeks or so to you and Mrs. J. It might very well be your subconsciousness isn't done with these things yet. I hope it passes soon.
