Ok, I've got my art project ready for cutting in the morning and I'm nervous as hell. I honestly feel like a kid right now.

Time to get some rest and hope that I have a steady hand in the morning.

I've now cut this thing out 3 times.....the 1st time I blew it early, the 2nd & 3rd time, both within minutes of finishing. :mad: One more attempt after a break and if this one doesn't work, I may be in trouble.

Cross your fingers everyone. 7 hours invested in cutting this thing out and I'm pretty damned frustrated.

I hope everyone is having a good day. It's almost the weekend!!! Woo hoo!!!

Good luck John. Cutting - now didn't we learn that in kindergarten. Sorry I had to. Actually, in kindergarten my teacher kept yelling at me that I was using scissors wrong - ha - I learned to cut hair in a former life!

Thanks Rhapsody, I have to mount it in the morning, so it's done now. I can only hope she realizes the effort, even if it's not all that intricate. These old hands and old mind don't work like they used to :)

Hope you've got something fun planned for the weekend. I'm going to be studying, but will find a way to sneak Mrs. J out for a bit of something too.

Good Morning everyone!

I'm impressed John! It looks really great! I'm sure most anyone would have to attempt this several times... Using an Xacto knife is difficult (especially on the round cuts), and hurts after awhile.

I love how you used the negative space to complete the bubbles, and in the overall layout... It was smart that you designed the scalloped edge irregularly like that. It makes it look more fun, and doing a perfect scalloped edge would have been Hell! Great Job!!!
 
I'll take a look Rhapsody. I need something else to focus on besides school work.

Thank KAt & Kurvy you're support and opinions mean a bunch! I actually was surprised at the critique in class. It went very well. some weren't so good, but it was tough and they all worked hard, I think.

Now to see how it gets graded. ;)
 
Good afternoon everyone. I got a late start here today as I went for mani/pedi's with my girls. Good start to the weekend. :)

How is everyone doing? It's beautiful here in SoCal, clear skies, warm but not too hot. This is why we live where we do. May go to a football game this afternoon, but other than that, studying is the only other thing on my agenda.

I really liked the cut-out, John. Maybe you see imperfections because you are the creator, but I see a wonderful playful card. I like the colors too, not too 'screaming' and not dull as well.

My last days have been a bit busy, I made a lot of applesauce (Friday) and even more grape-gelee (if that is what a jam without bits and pieces is called) yesterday.

Sunbunny, I'm sorry you have to work, but I will be knee deep in the books today, so I can kind of relate. The football games will be on in the background though. :)

Thanks Dutchess. Applesauce & grape jelly, now that sounds like an interesting combination. You do find interesting ways to stay busy. Sticky, but interesting. :D
 
Morning John and everyone. John I adore you even more knowing you went for a mani/pedi. Did you actually get one too...or hang out. I think if more men took care of their hands and feet more women would be happy.

I did get one too, although the girls took much more time than I did with the polish and the sea salts and whatever else. My 13 y/o thought it was pretty funny with dad sitting next to her and no other guys around. But, hey, they had football on the tube too, how could I go wrong?

Football on the tube and women ( admiring I guarantee) all around. This is on my list today.
