Wrapped apples on the grill!
Apfelkorn (awfully sweet though), fresh apple-juice, 'Heite Bliksum' (hot lightning, 1/3 potatoes, 1/3 sour apples and 1/3 sweet apples, cooked together until it is a mash... grilled or baked bacon is the classic to go with it), all so very yummy!

That hot lightening sounds interesting. I may try that next time we have a BBQ. Sour apples - I don't know? Is this going to be like an apple sauce? I could serve it with pork chops.

Oh yes, pork chops would be very nice with it. It isn't an applesauce, it is much thicker, more mashy because of the potatoes. It is really filling. My grandmother (yes, I too) always poured in the fat from the bacon before she mashed the hot lightning. It is a food children love too. Be careful when you serve it, because it is really hot. Much hotter then just mashed potatoes. Cold it doesn't taste like applesauce at all. Just like cold potatoes with apples in it.

Good night RRRs :kiss:es

With Lola involved I'm sure the food will be yummy. Now, do we have any entertainment ideas?? Watching a few of you on the trampoline works fine for me, but I guess we need to consider everyone :D

Oh yeah, been out taking photos tonight, so i can bring the camera and shoot everyone floating in the water.

It's been a rough week for me.. managed to hurt my back on Tuesday and have felt like shit all week and barely moving.. home time has been spent in the recliner with a heating pad instead of hanging out here.. Then yesterday one of Babygirl's friends posted a picture of a band function and she was right in the middle of the dance floor with the biggest smile on her face.. and another mentioned that the reunion organizers had asked her to speak about Babygirl at one of the events this weekend.. she declined because she didn't want to cry in front of them all. But just the fact that they were even considering it since the high school system pushed Babygirl out of school spring of her senior year and she enrolled in another school and finished on the five year plan amazed me.. and let me know that she is remembered and loved.. :

Sunbunny Happy Belated Birthday! Hope your back is feeling better! :rose:

Thank you Lola! Back is slowly getting better.. hoping to get back into the gym today.. Still need 5 check in times to get reimbursed by work.. lol.

Good morning John and everyone

Glad your back is getting better, Sunbunny, be careful though, don't overdo things or it will take much longer before you are well again.

*grins* John, Some music will be fine. The company is all the entertainment we (I) need.

Good morning everyone.

I'm bowling in a benefit tournament this morning with some friends. This should be interesting, I haven't touched my bowling balls in months. the people that asked me to participate probably have high expectations, so we'll see how it goes.

Then I have to study for a test tomorrow and do some more reading, so NFL on the tube on the patio and some sun this afternoon, I think.

Sunbunny take care of that back. I know how frustrating it can be, but patience is key.

Dutchess, I just assume you'll not only be at the party but also be quite entertaining. ;)

Perhaps volleyball? I love trampolines... Marco Polo in the pool... I can think of an interesting twist to a ring toss game as well...;)

Morning everyone. When to a remote dark place last night to take photos of the moon. Moon was a disappointment, but got some cool sunset shots. They are posted on my thread.

Its been a rough day for my fantasy teams today and both the Bills & Chargers lost, so I'm going to bury my face in the books the rest of the day, even if it is on the patio, and try and study for a big test tomorrow.

I hope everyone else is having a good day!

Hey Roomies have a wonderful Monday! And why are there 5 work days and only 2 days off? Why couldn't it be reversed? Or 4 days off and 3 days on or 3 days on and 4 days off.
Lalalalola

Good morning Lola!! I loved my 4/10 schedule at work.. 3 days off was heaven.. unfortunately they have me back on 5 day work weeks for the season..

Back pain has finally settled into a couple of spots and the light bulb went off in my brain.. it is arthritis in my hips that radiated out from both sides to my spine.. popping my meds and the swimming yesterday was just what I needed. Got the hips moving and slept much better last night.. But am taking it easy.. just did 10 slow laps.. will do a few more this morning.

Good morning sunbunny and the rest of the crew.

Lola does have some good ideas huh? Went out late last night and looked at Rhapsody's photos, wow!

Where oh where is Yellow Rose. I know she had some time off, guess she must be being naughty. That's a good thing, but I've missed her.

Grrrr!!! Class was cancelled so no test. I could have taken the weekend much easier. This is John, MAD!!! Guess it just gives me more time, but now I have 2 big tests next Monday and that's not fun.

Either way, I love you all :rose:

That really is a shame! It is maddening to study for a test, come into classes and hear it is cancelled. I remember we got so mad once, we could sit in the library and take the test there, under supervision of some other students.

Take it from the bright side, John: At least for one of those tests you only have to read the notes you made yesterday!

Lola does have good ideas. Much better than those some dudes who played major roles in the French and Russian Revolutions had: The weeks they came up with were kind of ... nuts. The French wanted a ten-day week with nine workdays (at those times only the sunday was free (Yay for egalité, fraternité and lberté! The poor were paying the prize)) and the Sovjets a five-day week with not a day off for all, but only for twenty percent of the population at one day, so that 80% would be always working.

I am glad you found out about your back pain, Sunbunny, but not about you having arthritis!

I've had it in my hips and knees for years.. knees much worse, reason I go to the gym all the time.. and the swimming I do to keep the knees functioning keep the hips no bother at all.. think it was the weather change here that kicked it up.. joints don't like the cooler temps..
