John's Rustic Romper Room

Ok, as some of you know, when I get a chance, I start wandering about with very little direction, camera in hand. Today after meeting with my counselor, I wandered through the hills, and as I was getting back into my car, I decided to experiment a bit on a set of train tracks. Of course, while sitting in the middle of the tracks, I hear a train coming up behind me...I scrambled to my feet and quickly took a couple of shots. I was never in danger or anything, but I thought it was funny. I did get one where you can see the conductor in the window and we actually waved at each other, but I didn't like that one as much as this one.

Love ths.

:D Honestly, I had plenty of time. I had just seen a train go by about 10 minutes prior so figured I had plenty of time to play around. I won't lie and say I wasn't surprised when the bells started ringing & the crossing bars began coming down, but I was never really nervous. I just really wanted to get a couple of shots as it approached and went by.

Good morning John and everybody

I like that picture. But John, how long will you stay on the tracks the next time you want to capture just the right moment? Do be careful please!

Sunbunny & Dutchy, good morning to you both.

I have a final meeting with my college counselor today (I hope). With any luck everything is in place and I just have to wait for classes to begin in just over 2 weeks. As the time nears, I begin wondering if going back to school at 54 is such a good idea. Career change, & a new direction wasn't part of the plan long ago. byway, I'm remain confident & excited. Just tend ot let my thought s & concerns get in the way sometimes.

I am hoping to get in some more exercise later in the day and that pool looks good already this morning, so don't be surprised if I come up missing, just look near the deep end and Im sure you'll find me, drink in hand, over thinking things once again.

Have a great day one & all!!

When my company announced closing shop in Arizona and moving the jobs to Texas I pondered just going back to school and setting out in a new direction.. It is a scary thing. But I decided that the change of scenery would help the healing and took them up on their offer to relocate to the big city! One of the best decisions I ever made! I miss my family and life back in my little desert town but I am where I need to be. Even my, stubborn as his grandmother, son admitted as much to me the last time we really talked.

I am off work today and going to be hitting the pool in a few minutes! Look for me drifting past, half asleep on my raft John!

Days off are always nice. Rest & enjoy the pool. Looks like its going to be a great day, just holler if you get thirsty, and dont be surprised if one of us guys decide to help keep you from betting burnt. :)

It looks like a pretty slow day on my side too. No real plans, though I do have a few small things to try and get done.

Morning Sun Bun...enjoy the pool.
Always Sweetie..

sunburns are not on the agenda!
Another wonderful morning brewing here in Texas! Today the forecast is for 100 glorious degrees! :D

Good morning ladies. It's a bit overcast this morning here right now, but is supposed to be clearing up and will be nice later. I went out to see if I could get a couple of sunrise shots but didn't have much luck.

I'm glad everyone avoided the sunburns yesterday. Guess we're doing something right :)

Good morning, John. A rare daytime here with clouds, lightening, and lotsa rain, so maybe I'll get some pool time in. Ya gonna stock it with gurls again?

Guess you are doing something right!

No sunrise shots? Oh well, I prefer the sunset anyway. Sunrise alway happens so early in the morning!

Ever read Mark Twain's story in 'A Tramp Abroad' on his climb of the Rigi to see the sunrise from the top of that mountain?

I haven't read it, but just put it on my long list. I love to read, but find it tough sometimes to find the time. With school coming fast, I don't anticipate a lot of free reading, but maybe that's something I should address.

Ok, ladies, looks like Munky will be around to assist, sounds like a good day may be brewing.

It is just ... Well, I always giggle while reading that one. As makes the speech he held for a group of american gentlemen in Germany makes me giggle too.

Come on with the lotion, please, I really need some now, otherwise I have to turn around.

Come on with the lotion, please, I really need some now, otherwise I have to turn around.

*Retrieving the Bronzo Sensualé Gourmet Carrot Lotion SPF-8 tanning oil. (the world's finest, as you deserve)*

Turn around or roll over? I need to get oriented here if I'm to properly do my job.

Oh, if lotion is on the way I will stay in my favorite position on the raft: on my back, feet and hands just in the water.
