John Wayne

There's going to be a lot of shit. You just have to know what to look for.

I guess a Theater in Thailand isn't the right place? <G>

Ringo, I'm late in this but...just got back from Hawaii where I visited the USS Arizona Memorial. Very sobering experience. However, it made me think of one of the first John Wayne flicks I ever saw called "In Harm's Way". Certainly not his absolute best movie but I picked it up at the video store the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it...over again.

Great cast...Kirk Douglas, Henry Fonda, Patricia Neal. Too bad it was done in B&W, but a good war drama nonetheless.

Jimmy Stewart made some good westerns!

The Man who shot Liberty Valance.
I thought that was a very good movie. Liked Stewart in that. Also thought John Wayne and Lee Marvin did well in it.

And the one where he was sherrif and some bad men were comin to town. Forgot the name of that one.
This sounds suspiciously like High Noon but the star was Gary Cooper with Grace Kelly as his leading lady. He was also a favorite actor of mine. Loved him and Patricia Neal in Fountainhead.

Now is it a big surprize to anyone that Uncle Bill liked the Fountainhead?????

Serious film really horrible topic Sean Penn in Dead Man Walking. The Orginal Cape Fear scared me to death as did most of Hitchcock's Flicks. Silence of the Lambs is a classic now Anthony was inspired in that one.

Best comedy from my grandpa's era Arsenic and Old Lace along with WC fields in the Dentist. The Marx Brothers defined absurdly funny for me the first time I saw Duck Soup. It was wonderful to watch them in action they ROCK!!
Comedies are the best thing the world has going on.
Airplane was another along with CaddyShack. Bill Murray has the best face in hollywood.

Jim Carey SUCKS sewage!!! Talk about absoultely nothing orginal and just too creepy in general.

Really like the guy that played in Shane and of course Showdown at the OK Corral sp?? One flick I saw recently and really liked was The Last Picnic Show and also the orginal Picnic with Bill Holden and Kim Novak.

I am shutting up now.

Ambrosious---You said one of your favorite movies was
"On Golden Pond."FYI the movie was filmed in NH.The
boats in it are owned by a Pat Curtin who owns the
marina between the Bonanza Steak House and the Burger
King or McDonalds(don't remember)in Laconia NH.I know
because I rebuilt the engine of the US Mail boat, that
supposedly burned during the movie. They are Cris Craft
boats and the parts are expensive as hell. Irish

I"m a huge John Wayne fan. I also liked Jimmy Stewart a lot. Clint Eastwood, and Bruce Willis. And , though somewhat ashamed to admit it, I like aAdam Sandler movies, too.

Ginger, that would be Alan Ladd who played the title role. And I liked him as well. Thanks for the memory jog.

Bill,

Don't forget Jack Palance in one of the most evil roles he ever played.

"Why Johnny Ringo, you looked liked someone just walked over your grave". (southern gentleman accent)

I'm also a great fan of Cage, but I don't think "nick" would survive the wild west. I know i am setting myself up for a big hit here but: Have you ever seen "What's eating Gilbert Grape" or " Basketball Diaries"? You can't tell me Leo isn't a great actor!

Ok take your best shot (says with eyes closed and body tense).

Rooster-
