I was so saddened by the passing of John Ritter. I am a great fan of his.

I have been watching the specials about him and they seem to leave so much out. The only thing they mention is his father, the dating game, 3's company, the waltons, problem child, hearts afire and 8 simple rules.

While this is a lot, he has done much more. I would have liked to see a mention of his guestshot with his wife on the cosby show, some of the other movies he's done (just saw a great one the other day- he was a preacher and a firefighter who God but couldn't believe it was a miracle.), comercials he's been in (I once watched the entire infomercial for 'Where there's a Will there's an A" becuase he was in it. It's also a great product by the way) and the kids shows he's been involved in.

NO mention whatsoever of CLIFFORD, which he does the voice of! I also saw him on a kids show once (I cann't remember what it was, it might not be on any more) where he came in and read 'The true story of the 3 little pigs,' or something like that. Does anybody else remember anything that has been overlooked, or just wish to share?

He was great as "Ted", the ultimate impending evil step-father in an episode, of that name, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Very creepy performance.

I'm sorry, but...

...who?

Hmm. I have to go read up. I have no idea of who this guy is.

Actually, one of the few "Buffy" episodes I ever found worth watching. John Ritter was great. Buffy and the rest of the cast were so-so as usual.

Yes, it is sad to lose an artist who chose his own medium in which to express himself. He never let himself be defined by the light or shadow of his father, country-western singer Tex Ritter.

I have always respected John Ritter, and will miss him.

Havent' you ever heard of 3's Company? He's Jack Tripper.

Also famous for "Problem Child"

I have now.

An IMDB searrch on John Ritter tells me that I've probably seen his face in a few good movies through the years. But even with a picture I can't recall him.

I'm not trying to bash the dead here, just say it as I see it. I'm a little surprised that you talk about the guy as a major pop culture icon, and I haven't even ever heard the name. It just goes to show, there is a lot of media out there...

He was also Vaughn Cunningham in Sling Blade. probably the best non-comedic role he ever had...

Awwww that is so sad :(

He was wonderful in 8 simple rules...and I remember him in the buffy episode too.

I hadn't heard anything about it till i'd read this thread either.
