It has been a very long night. Joesephus is to be buried in a few hours. Critter will not be there. It is the custom in his country to hold the funeral within 24 hours of the death. They do nolt embalm. His father will not be there either. Joesephus was not close to his mother, this was her 7th wedding, but she has taken over.

Critter is very upset, but does not know what can be done. His mother wants him in the family cemetery, and his mother's family has money and local influence. Not that she ever gave Joesephus any help.

Joesephus was a passenger in a car that hit a wall. It was after the wedding party and we don't know that the driver was drunk.

Critter is on her way there, but she will not arrive there until late tomorrow. It's a remote area. She thinks his mother is doing this because getting the body exhumed is almost impossible.

I am trying to make arrangements to fly down there to see if I can help Critter. We have already contacted the American Embassy, who are NOT much help. I don't know what else to do.

I will post when I know more. Please keep Critter in your thoughts, she is right on the edge and is having to travel alone.

I don't know any of the people involved in this, but cannot help but feel sorry for this poor woman. She's in my thoughts, as are you, I hope all of this gets resolved.

Very best wishes and all sympathies

Sigh. People can't help playing with power, even in death. :(

Johnny, sending you and critter all my strength.

*hugs* and you're all in my prayers.

Thank you for keping us informed, this must be really hard for you. :rose:

I didn't know Joesephus, but I've read his work. It's pretty obvious to say that he will be missed.

Godspeed and God bless.

I hope she can find peace in the knowledge that we have no control over what family we are born into, but he chose her. It won't matter where his body is buried, his heart (soul) will be with her. :rose:

I was sad to see your post about Joesephus' death. I looked forward to his stories. I am sorry for his wife especially since his mother is doing what she is doing. It is strange that he was worried for his Marine in Iraq but it was she who suffered the loss. I wish her and the rest of his loved ones peace.
