From the WSJ. Queue to the violins. šŸŽ»

Democratic Senators introduced a bill last week that would allow striking workers to receive unemployment benefits after two weeks. Federal law requires that workers be ā€œable to work, available to work, and actively seek workā€ to qualify for jobless benefits, which on average replace about 45% of weekly wages in California.

Sorry for bad link in the original post. Here’s the correct link to the WSJ OpEd below. Yes, it’s gated so non-subscribers can’t access it. It’s self explanatory and here’s another snippet for more context.

U.S. labor law since the Taft-Hartley Act of 1947 has been aimed at creating a level playing field for unions and management to make their case to workers. But Democrats are now seeking to put their thumb on the bargaining scale by extending unemploy-ment benefits for up to 26 weeks to workers on the picket lines. This is a bargaining-table subsidy for actors like Susan Sarandon and Paul Dano. Unions could also direct more member dues to political campaigns instead of strike funds.

awww someones pissed because a support has to be offered to "all"...

Seems like a lot of effort to create a "Hollywood is hurting my feel feels" thread. šŸ¤”

(Personally, it's not my thread, so I'm not pissed. Just laughing. šŸ˜†)

The WSJ chose the title of their editorial, but yeah I’d never heard of Paul Dano. Lol.
Awww didn’t watch any of his films?

Maybe you should… might be able to learn something from…

12 years a slave
Little Miss Sunshine

(Not sure I would really suggest this for anyone but) Cowboys and Aliens - maybe this will fill up some of your time

But this being a Porn site- hopefully you have seen ā€œthe girl next doorā€.

So you're going to take out your axe to grind against Susan Sarandon even though this bill would help American workers.

Okey dokey.

(FYI your link goes to create a new thread not the article.)
Moron.

Thanks for the film tips but that’s not the point of the post. It’s about state legislators who are proposing that taxpayers subsidize workers who voluntarily choose to strike.

No, it's not. You never mentioned that before this ^ post. You fucked up a link, apologized for your fucked up link, laughed for some reason, admitted that you're ignorant, and then made this about that.

Perhaps you didn’t read the excerpts I included from the WSJ piece. Or more likely, you tried to read them but had trouble with comprehension. Not the first time you’ve struggled but keep working on it. Lol.

I know someone as simple as you believes that copy pasta counts as your own thoughts but that's not how it works.

Are you really going to come at me bro? You fucked up the link in this thread and used a baby as a political football for an entire diatribe where you fucked up the gender of the football.

You're on par with Reichguide and Derpy with your constant fuck ups and misplaced anger.

The text is very straightforward. Perhaps a friend or parent can explain to you. šŸ˜‚

Nobody is blaming you for being unable to understand what the text says. You tried your best.
Nobody said I didn't understand anything. I pointed out that you had nothing to say on the topic of your own thread.
