Job Titles

Housewife/mom which means I do not get paid, lately I cannot even get laid :(

Soft Lines Coordinater... sound impressive? Actually it was my job till the 20th of this month. That was the date I hit 12 weeks on workmans comp and now they don't have to hold it open for me, though my boss wants me back. Don't think I shall be able too. Anyway, its a fancy way of saying I am in charge of the fabric, notions, patterns, trim and special orders of a large fabric/craft store. Along with being an assistant manager.

Collections Manager.

I hunt deadbeats with my trusty phone and pen. I weild the mighty power of the First Sarn't! I know most of the guys by first name by now.

Don't shoot!

I've got the best job in the world.
I'm a lecturer, which is good. It pays about 15GBP per hour, which is OK.
The good bit comes when I tell you that I teach Music Technology and Sound Engineering, specialising in Recording and Production. So intstead of a boring old classroom I teach in a recording studio. And instead of boring old students I get to work with some really talented young people.
And...when I look out of my Window, I see the beautiful River Severn flowing through the town. (through the car park quite often recently)
Life is good!

Before getting rudely yanked out of the job pool, I was a Manufacturing Tech at a semiconductor fab, which is a fancy way of saying 'button pusher'. It was a good job, with a lot of opportunity to learn and advance. I was studying under the wing of some process technicians with the hopes of going back to school and advancing up the ranks. But hey, shit happens. Now I'm a domestic engineer, and it's my baby's turn to bring home the bacon. I do freelance work from home once in awhile, designing and publishing brochures for local businesses. I also do web authoring and though I don't get paid for it, I do tech support for my circle of friends and their computer illiterate parents. I'm not sure what job title that is, maybe Quasi-professional Sucker. :)

Going to be moving to the Bay Area soon. I've been offered a job that not only pays roughly twice what I was making as an MT, the job requirements fall well within my realm of physical ability. I think the official title is something like 'network engineer' but I prefer the term NOC Monkey.
