I love Jimi Hendrix but Stevie Ray Vaughan did a better version of Voodoo Child (slight return)?

I studiously compared the two note by note, speed by speed.

Hendrix.

Fuck Stevie Ray and all of his imitators (Kenny Wayne Sheppurdturd).

And Johnny Winter could kick all of their asses!

You dig necrophilia?

Johnny & Edgar Winter were good but lost their way.

Stevie Ray loved Hendrix and paid homage to him. read the interview about his version of Voodoo Child

With the exception of Jeff Beck, I don't believe guitarists are competitive

Between those two I would have to go with Jimi. Personally, I am really more of a David Gilmore fan. Nobody makes a guitar sound more erotic to me than David Gilmore.

Johnny Winter taught all those guys everything they knew about guitar.

I don't know about Beck. And I am not so sure that guitarists are not competitive, but the better ones are, I think, collaborative.

Never was a big Beck fan. Loved Led Boots though. Joe Perry had moments of brilliance, but, well, I think we all know what happened to Aerosmith- that's a sad story.

Alex Lifeson of Rush. Rush was tight. They lost their way too.
