no

the fancy breeds are gittin' fancier and are only fit for shows, the veal babies are all sold off to france and it wouldn't surprise me at all to find out this has been going on far longer than first thought. when they cut back 10 years ago on all that testing, it was like throwing the doors open for those out to make a sly profit. who needs to put money into cattle when spare nags can be bought, despatched and introduced anonymously into the food chain for a lot more profit?

Consider yourself lucky if horsemeat is all that's flowing through you food's supply chain.

You read about the fake horse passports thing? Been going on for years and there must have been literally THOUSANDS of people in the know.

Tip of the iceberg. I think we're going to see the biggest investigation into food safety since the BSE thing broke.

yup

just like the corruption anywhere - eggs/battery chickens, banks, pedo-ring politicos, you name . . . it if they can get away with it, then it's like 'almost' legal, really, in their eyes - no harm, no crime

good

about bloody time

Nobody could taste the difference?

highly processed, flavours masked with strong ingredients like onion, salt, garlic, texture unidentifiable . . . most brits aren't used to eating horseflesh, so wouldn't recognize it anyway - the other stuff rendered that virtually impossible; add brand-trust and safety standards? your regular consumer (and I'm including myself) wouldn't have a clue.

Is it really a "safety" issue? What harm is there in eating horsemeat? Serious question.

Q: What do you call a baby donkey?
A: A burrito!

:cool::D:cool:

These two kids are sitting on a curb, and one says, "Boy, those chihuahuas sure must be smart dogs!"

"Really? Why?"

"'Cos my Dad says the Mexicans use them to make burritos!"
