For years ever since parts of Jenova was formed they wanted to create someone that could be Sephiroth equal. There was a young girl her name was Lex she had been injected a couple times a year a supposed flu shot. But now at the age of 18 she is perfect. Inside her is all Jenova all her power into a living being, she was to be the perfect mate for Sephiroth, she wasn't taught to fight or use any kind of power because they knew that when the time was right she would know how to do it.

She was released and on her own, she was a very kind and beautiful young girl, her eyes normal they did not show signs of what was inside her, only knows that are part of Jenova could feel her difference. She was being pulled to a mako reactor in Neibelheim where the story of Sephiroth had taken affect but when she got there, there was a man with beautiful long silver hair, a long bladed sword, she stopped dead looking at this stranger but deep inside her she knew him, but how?

There was confusion and pain and flashing lights. After a long time in the darkness between spheres, he was back again. Heaven's bastard son, Jenova's perfect child - Sephiroth.

Last time he'd been called deliberately by some punk kid with a few stray cells of Mother in him. This time, though, he didn't know WHY he was back or HOW - he'd known, even as Cloud had defeated him, that the time had been wrong. He'd been thrust suddenly into the fight with all the wannabe's friends nearby. He'd had no time to plan or strategise. This time would be different.

He'd come to in a broken pod, connected to a shattered reactor. He'd been surprised that even this much had survived. Had this been a clone body of his, preserved for some bizzare reason known only to the Company chairman? Was it some cult of Mother's working in secret?

No matter. He was out, he'd found equipment identical to his old gear just waiting for him and he'd dressed fast. He was just considering where to go when he heard footsteps and a heavy door creaking and groaning open on the far side of the room. Which is when she entered.

Whipping around so that the mass of silvery hair span out in an arc behind him, Sephiroth squarely faced this unknown person, quickly running his eyes over her to estimate her strength, speed, agility and arms.

She looked at him feeling a deep connection to this man as she slowly walked towards him, her speed and grace not human but as her gaze didn't leave his eyes, her eyes changed into piercing green eyes ones that showed great power. "I do not know why im called to you but I am, they said id meet the great sephiroth looks like they kept there word" Her voice very soothing and sweet, maybe even seductive to people that were not of great importance

Eyes narrowing Sephiroth took slow steps backwards to keep a distance between them. People never looked for him for happy reasons - he was the eternal outcast, damned by his lineage and his past.

Her eyes revealed Mako power - and not the little bit that SOLDIER recruits used to get. Her eyes gleamed like his own. Like those of Cloud had used to. Was she with him?

Her voice beckoned to him, told him everything would be fine, but Sephiroth was used to being manipulated by others, and the sweet words slid off him.

"They DID, did they? And who ARE 'they' anyway?"

She looked into his eyes as her eyes became normal again she closed her eyes "A man a scientist Hojo was his name, some thought he was dead but some how he survived, he did something to me injections supposed shots to protect me from getting sick, but my dreams, she closed her eyes and almost like her cells were talking to sephiroth. Her voice mixed with her own but also the voice of Jenova.

"Dead for a thousand years,
A great terror arose from the deep,
It swept across the land,
A lone past still lingers,
Destiny cannot be denied,
A burden grows heavier,
To the kingdom of the Ancients,
Across a vast sea,
The journey home begins..."

Something inside her was controlling her like she was in a trance as she slowly touched his hand showing him the promise lands that they existed showing him the ruler of the lands along with her but a whisper of Jenova filled his head.

"Protect her Sephiroth, she has great power she was made to be your equal and one day your wife" The voice stopped as she shook her head.

"What the hell happened?"

Sephiroth looked startled. His previous calm was shattered like a rock through thin ice and he clutched at the scattered shards of it. Where was his center? Where was the control he'd fought so hard for?

"Jenova... Mother..." the words were soft from his lips, but they were spoken partly in awe, partly in dread and partly in hate. Sephiroth wasn't about to forget the way his Mother had manipulated him and what it had wound up costing him, costing both of them.

And now came a beautiful young woman, offered to him as his own, someone to accept and understand him totally? Someone his equal to share his tasks and concerns? It seemed to good to be true, but then most things that seemed to good to be true WERE too good to be true. For now though, it was clear that he needed to keep her with him.

"Didn't you hear what you said? Nevermind, it's not important. I'm supposed to stay with you and guard you. You're supposed to take me somewhere - I suppose we find out more on the way..."

For now, he'd watch and learn...

She shook her head "Sometimes I have moments I don't remember, makes me feel like such a freak" she sighed some but something caught her eye as she walked passed him to the room she opened it and the room light up and there was what was left of her original form. Her eyes went wide as she backed away. "No....." she fell onto her knees as she held her head she heard voices in her head.

HoJo: She is perfect, she will be the true equal to Sephiroth..
Nurse: Are you sure about this doctor, what if she unlocks the land?
HoJo: We will be trully free Sephiroth is free to do as he will
Nurse: Where is the promised lands?
HoJo: The way is to the old ancient city
Nurse: Ohh and her fate
HoJo: Bare him children and to be his queen, someone for him to trully love

In a flash she opened her eyes "Im.....No" She looked up at Jenova "Im not YOU!" She screamed

Sephiroth watched as she numbly walked past him, her lambent eyes focussed on another when than the one they both occupied here.

She led and he followed, through a short stretch of the shattered complex and to a room... Well, it was mostly empty. There WAS a tank in it, but the tank was broken. According to a sign rivetted the case this had been the last resting place of Jenova, his Mother. But Jenova wasn't here, of course, she'd been removed and much of her lost, boiled down to a few cells here and a few cells there.

But the woman pointed at the empty tank and shrieked her denial at it.

"Was this the reincarnation of Jenova? Was THIS why he'd come back?"

Unthinkingly, his hand reached out to her as he stepped behind her. He caressed her hair gently and whispered "There, there. Relax. Everything will be well. I'm here."

She relaxed at his touch as she leaned into him she closed her eyes "He made me I remember my part, I was injected with Jenova over the course of two years. I am the key to what you have wanted" She looked into his eyes she placed her hand on the side of his face. "Whats inside me knows you even if we have never met but it feels like ive known you my whole life, I....don't know what im supposed to do" She held him close as she closed her eyes.

"Ive never belonged in this world all I want to do is belong.."

Vincent stood quietly outside the Nibelheim Makou reactor. The reactor had mostly been demolished, though the hole could never be truly plugged. He studied the reactor. As a former Turk, he knew how it was constructed, and how to turn it on and off. But as Vincent Valentine, he was here because of a rumour. He had heard something about ghosts wandering the reactor, and had come to investigate. The only things he carried with him were a brand new phone, something that Cloud had insisted he get, and his custom assortment of firearms. He didn't see much need for anything else. As he studied the reactor, he listened, and thought he heard voices. Nothing definite, he thought, but it sounded like someone was somewhere inside the reactor.

Sephiroth let his arms slip around her, bringing her cheek down to his chest as he held her gently.

"Belong? In this world? Why would you want that? This world is dull and prosaic. We are different. Special. Better. You will NEVER belong in this place. You are still finding yourself though, I understand - I'm newly reborn myself. We should leave this shell of a place and find somewhere to rest. We need to stay out of sight, make our plans and get to know one another. Plenty of time for you to work out who you are and who you are not, ne?"

Patting her gently, letting the smooth leather of his coat caress her cheek, he waited for her to calm.

She nodded "We have to go to the ancient city I remember a nurse saying that to the doctor, where the blood of the last ancient was shead, Hojo said you would know" She sighed some as she walked away heading outside "I know of you son of Jenova but betrayed by everyone and you think im going to turn out to be the rest" She looked at him "Ive always found you interesting maybe my destiny is to be your equal?" She smiled "but the great Sephiroth is supposed to be the best..."

His eyes burned as she spoke of his betrayal. "Yes, I was betrayed. By everyone. Used by Hojo my father, by Jenova my mother. I was betrayed by the company that gave me purpose and by the Soldiers who were supposed to follow me. Even those most like me - Cloud and the others - turned against me. So you'll have to accept my caution, strange girl who comes from nowhere, claiming to know me. When we're somewhere safe we can discuss the nature of our relationship."

Sweeping after her, his long legs quickly catching her up, the pair of them made their way to the exit of the long abandoned facility. Sephiroth was already arranging plans in his mind.

First to find some shelter - an inn, perhaps, or an abandoned house?

Second to get some rest and recover the last of his strength.

Third to spend some time studying this fascinating creature who promised so much.

"My equal? You don't become that just by saying it. We'll see how well you fight later, and you'll have the opportunity to prove yourself when we talk of plans."

Lex looked up at him and just nodded, looking forward as they left the reactor but it was then she saw someone in red, she felt his strength she knew that this was one of Clouds men. "Vincent Valentine, why are you here?" She said softly which is pretty stupid she knew why he was there, at least she had an idea, to stop them, she looked up at Sephiroth unsure of what to do in that moment.

The richly cloaked figure hadn't escaped Sephiroth's notice either. What ill fortune so soon after awakening.

Vincent Valentine was one of the more cerebral of Clouds little helpers though, so there was a chance this could be kept to talk for now.

"You're not foolish enough to stand in our way, are you?"

Vincent raised an eyebrow, turning to look at Sephiroth and the woman. Then he shrugged. "That depends. Are you foolish enough to try to destroy the world again?"

Sephiroth met Vincent's perfect poise with his own calm arrogance.

"That depends, Turk, on whether the world is foolish enough to try and destroy ME again. I would have thought you'd all have learned by now."

He leaned casually on his sword.

"For now, I'm content to leave you be and go on my way with the girl in tow. Whatever your business here is, it's no business of mine. Unless you choose to make it so..."

He matched Vincent's eyebrow with a silver one of his own, suggesting that the matter was of small concern to him - either way.

Vincent shrugged again, then looked at the reactor. "I got a report of the sounds of ghosts. I guess that was you two. Just for the record, I knew your mother. I mean your physical mother, not Jenova." He looked away from the rubble, at the sky. "I objected to what was done to her, and to you, and was turned into this for it." He looked down at his clawed metal hand.

"And yet I received no thanks for my part in the destruction of Shinra. Well, that's old news now, isn't it? We've both become something we weren't and, whilst we dislike the forced nature of our change, I don't think either of us would willingly go back to being a mere human."

Sephiroth shrugged. Common ground with this man was not something he wanted too much of. Best to stay distant and move away. Best to keep it all professional.

"I've not been making much noise in there. I've not heard anything either - so your ghosts may not be us. Feel free to check the place out - it's nothing to me. Now, if sanity has prevailed and you truly will not stand in my way, we'll be going."

He reached out for Lex's hand, intending to drag her past Valentine and out into the open air.

She didn't say anything, she saw no reason to, a smile on her face as she sighed a bit, reaching to take his hand as she walked beside him, matching his pace easily without a problem. She didn't say anything she just held onto his hand and contuined to walk, her eyes forward but something inside her was very happy. She felt his touch, even tho she didn't know him she knew they would get along just fine.

Vincent nodded, then bowed slightly, before heading into the ruined reactor to investigate. He figured if any trouble started, he'd hear about it before long. Besides, Sephiroth was right. He could hear the voices still. Vincent had the sudden thought that it was the ghosts of the townsfolk killed by Sephiroth. Of course, that didn't make much sense, since they would have had reason to attack him.

OOC: welcome back

Once outside of the ruined facility, Sephiroth turned his attention to their needs. He felt the need for a measure of comfort and followed the ruined roadway up deeper into the wrecked city. He wouldn't meet anything here that he needed to fear and, if he knew the area at all, there would be... THERE... An old hotel, somewhat cracked and dusty now, but available, free and deserted.

The owner had locked it when leaving, but it was the work of an instant to force the door open, and lead his new charge into the lobby. Sephiroth grabbed a key from the board behind the front desk and led the way deeper into the darkness of the abandoned hotel. Finally he stopped at the indicated door and opened it.

The room indeed HAD been made up and Sephiroth eased himself into chair, folding his long legs and laying his sword gently on the table nearby. Regarding this new companion with his glowing green eyes he waited awhile for her to say something and then, when she didn't - just standing there with that peaceful smile on her face - he began to speak himself.

"I'm told to protect you. I'm told to respect you and guard you. I'm told that you and I are destined to rule a far off land together. This is all sudden, and I hate surprises. Who are you, girl who knows Sephiroth? And how do YOU feel about all this?"

She smiled "I know of you Sephiroth and I don't expect you to protect me" She sat down looking down. "I know a lot of people have hurt you and betrayed you and im the kind of person willing to prove myself to you, to show you im not like the rest" She sighed some "And my name is Hope" She said softly. She slowly stood up as she ran her fingers on his blade showing she had no intention on picking it up.

"You are a mighty warrior" She said softly "I was told by the doctors that I am supposed to be your equal in power but I do not see it, they told me I will know how to control my power when need be but how? Im not trained to fight? Unless....." She looked at him "Would you be willing to help me Sephiroth? I know you have no reason to because we do not know one another but I really would like to be considered your equal in your eyes?"

She clearly had Jenova's blood in her veins. She was different - maybe she COULD understand him. Maybe she WOULD stand beside him. How much would it cost him to find out?

He watched her gentle fingers caressing the blade of his sword - feeling the first kindling of lust in his heart. Did he have plans of his own? No. The worst that could happen was his death - and he had died so many times already that he no longer feared it. A few years and then, as sure as the seasonal cycle, the Mako in the earth would mix with the Jenova cells still in planet's bloodstream and he would stir again.

"It seems I'm as mad as you are, little Hope. You want to share my life? My power? My burdens? Fine - then I'll train you and we'll see if you're capable of standing alongside me. We'll find that land you mentioned in your vision and we'll see what is to be seen - together. Your bravery and determination has earned you a chance, at least. If you cannot cope, though, I'll most likely kill you myself. Is that okay?"

She stopped "As you wish" She said as she turned around and stopped a few feet "It begins Sephiroth" She said as she walked outside and into the wide range, she didn't know what the hell she was going to do, she smirked some, the wind in her hair, swaying back and forth, a pure smile on her face, her eyes flashing from brown to green she looked down at her hands, she had to do this, she had to show him and herself who she was.
