Jennifer Lopez

Sorry, I have to say more about the grammys. I am definitely a rocker, the harder the better, and I feel that we have been betrayed by the grammys. I guess it's all commercialized. It really sucks, that great music such as Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, and etc...have been slighted. In an earlier reference someone mentioned when Jethro Tull won best heavy metal/hard rock. They haven't ever done one song that I would consider heavy metal or hard rock. Metallica really got screwed that year. Thank God for Kid Rock, or there wouldn't have been any hard rock music at the grammys at all. If I recall correctly, the NAACP and other groups raised hell when rap was overlooked by the awards shows, and I guess they are now trying to make up for it, by leaving midstream America's rock out of the show. The Grammy's suck...................

Yeah KIP!!!!!

GO METALLICA!!!!!!!! GO OZZY!!!!!!!
GO IRON MAIDEN!!

Gotta love the hard stuff that has wailing giutars. I love it, even when I have a migraine. I can listen to serious rock anytime day or night!! :O

Endlessly, if you're calling yourself a crappy lyricist one moe time, I'm coming all the way over there to give you a good spanking

Hullo. Metallica, Iron Maiden & the Ozzy Man.
*singing out loud* FOR WHOM THE BELLS TOLL.
I love the Ride The Lightning album. Makes me wish I still had that long hair, so I could do some serious headbanging.
Number Of The Beast. Proberly the best Iron Maiden album ever.
And Ozzy....Well, there's a man who needs no introduction.

If anyone want's some real kick ass hard rock. You might wanna check out Clawfinger. I personally recommend the Deaf, Dumb, Blind album. Use Your Brain, is good also.

Laurel. Baby, I'll rock on for as long as I live.

Kick ASS!! I was 17 when "Ride the Lightning" came out. They opened up for Ozzy when he was touring for.....uhhh...I think it was "Ultimate Sin". I had a '74 Nova at the time and the first time I came pulling up the driveway blasting Metallica my parents thought I was on drugs (yeh, so they were right, what's the big deal?).

Endlessly... lyrics huh?

Warm winds blowin, heat'n blue skies... and a road that goes forever....I'm goin to Texas

Been thinking bout it lately, been watchin some TV... been looking all around me, at what has come to be...been talkin to my neighbor and he agrees with me... it's all gone crazy...

Well my wife returns from takin, my little girl to school...she's got beads of persperation as she tries to keep her cool, she say's "that mess it don't get no better, there's gonna come a day, someones gonna get killed out there" and I turn to her and say Texas... "she says what", I said Texas, "she says what" ... they got big long roads out there....

etc....

There are a tremendous amount of great lyrics out there... and they keep coming... they are just not always in the main stream.

I feel like this whole thread is a bitch about the inevitable...the "masses" have terrible taste in music, literature and art...or so we are told by the media.

the bottom line is that what the media promotes - people pay attention too.. and regardless of the intrinsic value of that selection, it will become something of a hit...because of the media attention...mainly because the owners of the media are the same ones that are on the boards of the respective art, music and literature companies... it's all just "I'll scratch your back if you'll scratch mine"

but "pop" or "light" music has been with us for a long time. This generation does not have an exclusive on the "studio band/artist/singer deal" if you do your research you will see that this is a repetitive phenom...along the lines of "I walked two miles to school, uphill both ways"

In the end the "good stuff" will always stand the test of time...the rest will fall by the wayside (luckily)...you just have to wait it out...

damn, I am going to have to quit doing "shrooms" and then posting...I can't even tell where I was going with that....

Hey, Hawk, when I was in college we used to make tea out of shrooms. The effects didn't last as long, but you could reuse the shrooms several times......

I also had a buddy who would boil out his bowl (it was wooden), and then make soup (he'd use the Campbell's condensed stuff) out of the water he boiled it in...

Amazing what you can pick up in 5 years of College.

Xander? Before I forget..

Did I mention I'm a really crappy lyricist?

"Allow me to offer my own opinion from the point of view of a lyricist--a crappy lyricist, but one nonetheless."

Anyone ever notice that sometimes when people are being self-deprecating all they are really after is a compliment? It's reminiscent of those waif-like girls who say, "Do you think I look fat?" She knows she's not fat, she just wants to hear the "No, no, no. You look maahvulous. Stunning. Beautific, even."

I'd much rather someone be less modest than to inanely fish for a compliment.

By the way, I'm perfect.

Endlessly. Oh boy oh boy oh boy. *cracking knuckles* You're asking for it. Be right over.

By the way, I'm perfect.

Me too! That must be why I'm so in love with you.
