Japan's New Prime Minister

You may want to learn about 'money creation'. Let aunty Google explain it to you, or ask uncle Wikipedia.
I'm somewhat tired of explaining economy to morons.
I know about money creation, the bond market, carry trade, dollar swaps, sub-prime lending, derivatives, fiat money, and whom buys our debt.....oh and how interest destroys ....
There's one simple rule...... don't spend money you don't have on shit you don't need...
The best example are student loans for jackass colleges and/or jackass degrees....
Here's a few examples of poor life choices..... tattoos, tobacco products, soda pop, subscriptions to nearly anything, football/basketball/baseball ect..tickets,(fucking waste of time).... now my all time favorite.... bottled water (fuck me to tears).... Starbucks coffee, I've over heard people at the ck out counter sniveling about the price of gasoline while they/them are purchasing 5 bottles of water at buck quarter a 16 oz bottle
No one is buying our debt... no one, nearly all our debt is being monetized by the buyer of last resort.......
Aaaaaand.... let's not forget the CME, the commodities market or I should say the casino market that daisy chains the price of commodities to unaffordable levels...... ie market manipulation utilizing contracts on phantom commodities...

You are right with most of these points, but they have nothing to do with the point of the discussion.
Let me just add that student loans shouldn't be necessary at all. People with university degrees have higher income on average. Therefore they should pay higher taxes. At the end of the day the state benefits from people having a university degree. So, why pay for it?

Of course, the Communist way.............punish societies producers.

Diversity is over rated. I do not want Japan to be repopulated by people who do not live up to Japanese standards of behavior and performance.
Standards are wonderful. Homogeneity certainly implies acceptance of standards, perhaps.

As US citizens, we have standards. We don't always live up to them. I don't think diversity is the cause for not adhering to good behaviors and our performance, say, economically. We definitely could do better. But that's a topic in and of itself for another thread, perhaps.

You say 'repopulated,' but it doesn't address the declining population of Japanese citizens. The high economics and living standards are the primary causes of low reproduction; young folks don't want the financial strains of having babies to raise. What happens when the birth rate is no longer able to sustain The Land of the Rising Sun?

What happens, John, when they must face that reality?

🤔

All I see is a MAGAt.

😑

Regardless of race or nationality, all MAGAts have that same evil (sociopathic / psychopathic) countenance - and she also has the Ghislaine Maxwell hairstyle, so I can see why a MAGAt like Chloe would find her appealing…

Of course, every country has to “fight MAGAt with MAGAt” in the era of DonOld Trump aka Jeffrey Epstein’s bast friend, so…

😑

🤬

We. Told. Them. So.

Americans [not all of us] feel that a good education isn't a necessity. The mentality is one that was held over from the age when a high school education was enough to secure a livable job. Beyond that, education was considered something you paid for on your own. The mentality here is 'Why pay for someone else's education?'

You, on the other hand, come from a land and culture that values and recognizes the benefits of higher education, hence the 'why not pay for it out of government financing' response. That doesn't even begin to register with the larger population in the USofA, ironically.

Sometimes, Americans are a bit daft about learnin', readin', and 'rithmatic. It's a MAGA trait. ;)

The reality is that fewer people mean that there is more of everything good to go around.

Before the MAGA idiots flood the thread with their nonsense, here are my thoughts on the matter.
I am nowhere near as conservative as the majority here. I agree that the sins of the past are the sins of the past, but they must never be forgotten.
It is the duty of the perpetrators and their descendants to ensure that these sins are never forgotten.
It is the right of the victims and their descendants to forgive. No one can or should force them to forgive.

Oh, shoot, the MAGAs started already.
I'm really looking forward, how the US of the future will handle the MAGA sins of today.
It's also the right of the victims to prosecute as well.

Yeah, I remember the daft “educated” crowd squatting in Zuccotti park, defecating, and slumming all over the place because they found out you can’t make $100k right off the bat coming out of their indoctrination center of choice…especially if you’re brewing coffee for a living.

How much is the average Ivy League education setting them back? They weren’t pay’n much attention in that “rithmatic” portion of their book learn’n, were they?

Meanwhile, the HS Grad going to his local JuCo getting an Associates Degree working on HVAC was killing it. But, hey…the OccuPoopers are the “smart” ones…

The reality is that fewer people mean that there is more of everything good to go around.
You mean when everyone is too old to work, unable to care for themselves, and dies off at some point as there are not enough able bodies to care for them left, and those that are left are unable to sustain the economic levels?

My friend, CHTgpt, has a few thoughts on this as well:

That sounds appealing, but the numbers tell a different story. Japan’s shrinking population isn’t creating abundance — it’s leaving vacancies and strain behind.

  • 🏠 Housing: Japan now has over 9 million vacant homes — about 13.8% of all housing — and in some rural areas more than 1 in 5 homes sit empty. (Nippon.com, 2023)
  • 👵 Aging population: More than 36 million people are 65 or older, and by 2050 nearly half of all single-person households will be seniors. (World Economic Forum; Reuters, 2024)
  • 💼 Workforce impact: Japan’s labor shortages are so severe that the IMF estimates demographic decline will cut growth by 0.8% annually for decades. (IMF, 2020)
So, “fewer people” doesn’t mean more to go around — it means less capacity to sustain what exists. Culture doesn’t survive by isolation; it survives by adaptation and ensuring there’s still a next generation to inherit it.

That's a fact!
I'm amazed at our educational system. Teachers in four years of college make less than that junior college kid with an HVAC certification. Then again, we can't all be skilled HVAC technicians can we? ;)

I admit a asked Google this time because I don't want to forget an important one.

Literally rotflmao. Sins? These are the features we VOTED for. This is hilarious.

Let's start with these?
The initial actions and proposals of the second Trump administration focused on a sweeping re-evaluation and termination of numerous foreign aid programmes, alongside proposed domestic cuts.
International Programmes (Suspended/Terminated/Proposed for Severe Reduction):
* Vast Majority of US Agency for International Development (USAID) Programmes: The administration froze nearly all foreign aid for a review, and subsequently announced the termination of approximately 83% of USAID programmes, effectively dismantling the agency.
That was inspired - buy doing that we gutted woke bullshit worldwide, defunded make work programs for Democrats and cut Democrat funding by 90% (did you know that the money Soros provided to the Democrats was actually from USAID. Sin my fucking ass.

* Consequence: Millions of people in developing countries will lose access to basic healthcare, education, clean water, and disaster relief, potentially leading to millions of excess deaths.
Tough shit. No Sin. The only sin there is us being taken for a ride. We are not the worlds welfare agency. Their own govts can fund it instead of looting their countries wealth.
If they want us to run their countries, we can recolonize them. Most of them did very well as colonies.

* Global Health Initiatives (excluding PEPFAR): Significant proposed cuts, including a 62% reduction to global health funding beyond family planning, and termination of many maternal and child health (MCH) projects (86% cut).
* Consequence: Increased suffering and mortality from diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria, and acute risks of maternal and child mortality in poor countries.
See above.

* International Food Aid (P.L. 480 Title II): The FY2026 budget proposal sought to eliminate all funding for this major in-kind international food aid programme.
* Consequence: Vulnerable populations facing conflict and drought will suffer from increased food insecurity and famine risk, while US farmers and shippers, who benefit domestically, lose subsidies.
See above. They can buy our food if they want it. Or ask the Chinese for aid.

* Contributions to Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs): Proposed cuts included eliminating contributions to the African Development Fund and significant reductions to others like the International Development Association (IDA).
* Consequence: Developing countries will face reduced financing for critical infrastructure, poverty reduction, and development projects, potentially increasing geopolitical reliance on other powers.
Africa can fund themselves. Their problem is corruption.

* Global Environment Facility and Climate Investment Funds: Proposed elimination of contributions to both the Global Environment Facility and the Clean Technology Fund.
* Consequence: International efforts to combat climate change, protect natural resources, and support sustainable energy projects in developing nations will suffer a major funding shortfall.
Climate change is a fantasy.

* Funding to Certain United Nations Organisations: The administration initiated the withdrawal of the US from the World Health Organization (WHO) and is reviewing/cutting support for other UN organisations.
* Consequence: The UN system's capacity to address global challenges, from health crises to humanitarian emergencies, will be severely degraded due to the loss of a major financial contributor.
A sin? Jesus, the only thing we should do with the UN is nuke it.

Domestic Programmes (Proposed Cuts/Actions):
* Federal Small Business Grants: Funding for these grants was halted, disproportionately affecting minority- and women-owned businesses that depend on them.
* Consequence: Growth and economic stability for minority- and women-owned businesses in the US are hampered, leading to increased economic inequality.
Make work.

* Sanctuary City Funding: Proposed cuts to federal funding for 'sanctuary cities' and organisations assisting undocumented immigrants.
* Consequence: Undocumented immigrants and the local communities that support them face a loss of municipal services and assistance.
No problem. We're deporting them all home anyhow, and if those sanctuary cities want them in the interim, they can pay for them.

Vacant homes means that rents are low and houses are affordable.

You think you wouldn't benefit from helping others? The Chinese should help Africa? Oh, they will. Who do you think the Africans will consider their friends? Who will they sell their raw materials to? Whose products will they buy?
You may think that you can convince them, since you are such great businesspeople. You're not. You're lousy businesspeople, like con artists at a third-rate fairground. The art of the deal? Pressing the blood out of the stone? You've never understood that a deal is only good if both sides would be happy to do it again.
You cannot yet foresee the damage you have caused through your selfishness and blind rage towards everything you do not understand. You have shown the world your hateful face, and it will be remembered.
The American dream is dead, and you have killed it.
The American dream was not that you could achieve anything. You can achieve a lot when you work together, but in your egocentric delusion, you no longer do that.
The American dream was that there were people all over the world who wanted to be like you. That they wanted to visit your great country at least once. America, the great dream, where everything is great and beautiful.
Now everyone knows how ugly and mediocre everything is and how despicable its bloodthirsty inhabitants are, who accept without complaint that their children are murdered just so that they can all be armed and then shoot people of other skin colours with impunity.
No one wants to be like you anymore. Your country is no longer a land of hope; it is the fever dream of a dying man.
Of course, there are other people among you, but they are not seen or heard because they are shouted down by the mob whipped up by the ugly, fat, white old man.

You mean when everyone is too old to work, unable to care for themselves, and dies off at some point as there are not enough able bodies to care for them left, and those that are left are unable to sustain the economic levels?

Steve is super eccentric in real life if you aren’t a NBA fan but his video was awesome. America has a high older age demographic too. Maybe this is worldwide?
