Japan bio-scientists produce ‘singing mouse’

They produced a mouse with a differently shaped larynx. It squeaks and chirps the same way normal mice do and for the same reasons-- but the sounds are different when they come out. That's not birdsong.

The research they are doing-- raising two different-sounding mouse strains together to see if the two can communicate- is interesting.

I seem to recall Mighty Mouse used to sing something about "here to save the day" decades ago.

What do you call a mouse designed, engineered, and built under a government contract?

An elephant, of course. :D
