and yet another verse I would put on a t-shirt and have mofos trying to figure out what the hell is going on. :D

You have excellent taste Zumi! I had the blueberry this morning. I buy it because it's the best next to homemade, and you can't beat the ingredients. Short, simple and fucking yes!!

my fruit is small. the seed is big. the skin is thick.

hence cooking it whole with some water, then i will run it through a sieve to get all the unwanted parts out. the problem is i don't know if i can call it a jelly or a jam. a jelly is made by fruit juice. a jam is made from pulpy fruit. i am going to be somewhere in the middle with this batch and am finding myself a bit stuck.

so, jam or jelly?

the fruit: small (golf ball sized) hard stone peaches.

*the farmers told me i should have thinned the fruit early in the spring. 6" between each peach for optimal peach size. i let everything go from blossom to fruit.

JELLY
In jelly, the fruit comes in the form of fruit juice. Jelly has the smoothest consistency and is usually clear.

JAM

In jam, the fruit comes in the form of fruit pulp or crushed fruit. This makes jam less stiff than jelly.

PRESERVES

In preserves, the fruit comes in the form of chunks in a gel or syrup. Preserves will have more fruit in them than jam will. Marmalade is a type of preserve with citrus fruits in it.

My raspberries and blackberries were tiny and uneventful this year. The only fruit that did ok was the pears. Grossest summer in a while.

I love a good raspberry jam, not seedless though. Strawberry is always too sweet for me.

Zumi, that is a great jam/marmalade brand.

At one time I had four different jars circulating in my pantry and I'd switch up on every morning's toast for weeks...should do that again, it was fun. :D

There was a poster here before, jelly something. She babbled a great deal. You all hated her.

She came back, new and improved, licked(s) your balls, still babbles a lot and you love her now.

The gb Is a funny place.
