try washing your hands with cold water next time. works great for garlic and onions as well.

Nope, used dish detergent and water immediately after, shouldn't have washed the backs also.
 
Go work on the beach, hauling net and picking fish. The mud, sand, and salt water will take the burn away.
 
I must be the exception to the case. I have cut them up to add to my chili and eat them for snacks. I've never had problems.

A couple here or there is not an issue. digging seeds out of a dozen to two with your fingers is when the issues start up. Unless, you're blessed with tender skin.

Well it's about time to start on the peppers. Pobanos are turning red and some bells. got a lot of tiny red ones, cayenne I think. Trying to decide if I want Ancho or just poppers.
 
Chile Relleno the Poblanos. If you like 'em, make a big batch and freeze them
 
Water and soap doesn't work. wash your hands with salt. It removes the oils. then use either milk or yogurt to neutralize the remainder.
 
Brown up and crumble some pork breakfast sausage. When at room temp, mix the degreased crumbles in with the cream cheese. Split whole jalapeno peppers down the middle and take out the seeds and the membranes. Fill with cream cheese mixture. Put a narrow slice of Tillamook cheddar on top of the cream cheese. Wrap in bacon and cook on a rack in the oven or on the cooler side of a two zone grill until the bacon is done. Thick bacon isn't great for this, but can be made to work if you stretch it to make it thin out. I like Costco bacon and it's usually 1/2 strip per popper. Wooden toothpicks may be required to hold the bacon in place.

I had NO ideal why she was screaming her head off and cussing so ( Schools teachers have a wide and varying vocabulary!) as she shot up off the couch and damned near took the hinges off the bathroom door. ( I was able to fix the shower curtain). I sat there stunned for a few seconds before I snapped to what Happened! ( I may have laughed a little bit BEFORE she came back.)

It all worked out AFTER I brushed my teeth and gargled and washed my hands and face really well.:eek:

I made some pepper jelly with Carolina Reaper. Was excellent, but had to wear gloves with fans on and windows open. A hazmat suit might be helpful for a large batch.

they were freakin' dangerous! one or 2 bites big, so moreish? damn

although the maple of the maple sausage didn't really come through over the cheesy bacony goodness and the pepper deliciousness, each bite delivered. :cool:

the jalapenos weren't too hot once cooked up with the fillings/toppings but the poblanos hit a fiery note for sure :devil:

I just use spicy pork breakfast sausage in with the cream cheese, normally.

think we'll use that next time; i really like swaggerty's sausage patties, just the right amount of peppery goodness, but he saw the jimmy dean maple sausage and wanted to give it a go.
