Alcohol, milk, yogurth and vegetable oil should all do the trick. The issue is that chili oil isnt very soluble in water, so simply washing them often doesnt do the trick.

It helped.I must be the exception to the case. I have cut them up to add to my chili and eat them for snacks. I've never had problems.
..Brown up and crumble some pork breakfast sausage. When at room temp, mix the degreased crumbles in with the cream cheese. Split whole jalapeno peppers down the middle and take out the seeds and the membranes. Fill with cream cheese mixture. Put a narrow slice of Tillamook cheddar on top of the cream cheese. Wrap in bacon and cook on a rack in the oven or on the cooler side of a two zone grill until the bacon is done. Thick bacon isn't great for this, but can be made to work if you stretch it to make it thin out. I like Costco bacon and it's usually 1/2 strip per popper. Wooden toothpicks may be required to hold the bacon in place.

Well missed tomorrow, sausage is cooling before the (degreasing?) operation can begin. I'm guessing some paper towels will work just fine.

although the maple of the maple sausage didn't really come through over the cheesy bacony goodness and the pepper deliciousness, each bite delivered.
the jalapenos weren't too hot once cooked up with the fillings/toppings but the poblanos hit a fiery note for sure![]()
think we'll use that next time; i really like swaggerty's sausage patties, just the right amount of peppery goodness, but he saw the jimmy dean maple sausage and wanted to give it a go.I just use spicy pork breakfast sausage in with the cream cheese, normally.
