Jailhouse Brawl

Erin laughed softly as Mike mentioned having a target on his back. she took a drink of her Bud Light."Maybe because you are a cop in the middle of a bunch of drunks on the most popular drunken holiday of the year" Erin said.

She was sitting next to him on their bar stools and her leg was pressed firmly against his. She could feel the firm muscles there and excitement course through her body.

"So... I wanna apologize again for Nikki tonight. She can be... a handful" Erin said for lack of a better word. She studied his face.

"Although you still look hot even with a black eye" she added, grinning.

The contact he felt with her made his face flush, a fact that he was somewhat embarrassed of, as it made him feel like a schoolboy with a crush all over again. He blushed to easily, that was his problem. It was therefore with some measure of relief when she apologized for her friend, a lifeline he grasped instantly as he spoke.

"Its quite alright. Water under the bridge and all of that. Besides, I probably should thank her. It gave me an opportunity to meet you."

He blinked at his forward line and reddened slightly more noticeable, as he took another sip of his drink to still his nerves.

Idly, he would look at her hands and wondered what it would be like to rub them in his, kissing the palms and-Gah!

He shook himself mentally.

Don't be perverted man, she's too good to think like that now!

Still, a guy could dream....

Erin noticed him blush and her heart melted a little more. warninf bells clanged in her head. This man could spell danger for her, big time danger. She too took another sip of her beer. There were several couples dancing on the dance floor of the bar and Erin watched them. She turned to Mike.

"Do you dance, Mike?" she asked, speaking his name for the first time. She had laid a palm on his forearm to get his attention and found she didn't want to remove that contact.

He glanced down at the hand and almost as though it was happening to someone else, reached over and grasped her hand gently. Squeezing it briefly before smiling wryly and looking at her.

"I got two left feet, but for you Erin I will make an exception."

God, but her hand felt so soft and nice.....Like stroking warm velvet, that sent sparks tingling up his spine.

Erin smiled at his reluctance. He was so sweet if he was willing to do it even though he didn't like it. She turned her hand so that their hands were linked together. She shook her head no."Nope I don't wanna make you do anything you don't wanna" she said grinning.

"I've gotta better idea" she said grinning."How about we get outta here. I know a place where we can go that's a lot more private... and don't worry officer" she said, leaning close to him so that she could smell his cologne."It's perfectly legal for us to go there".

He smiled at that, as the closer she was to him....The better he could study her as well. Every feature of her face, every single part of her attracted him as he had an epiphany.... Back at the station when he met her....He had thought her pretty. He was wrong.

She was beautiful.

Deciding to go for it, he closed the distance and pressed his lips lightly to hers, almost imagining a massive spark between them igniting as he grasped her hand firmly in his before he pulled back and smiled, his eyes soft yet now smoldering with a fire for this goddess before him as he spoke softly, yet still with the same teasing tone.

"I'll hold you to that now. Though if you pull anything, I may have to cuff you."

Erins heart nearly stopped when he kissed her. Her whole body began to hum with attraction. Never had such a brief, gentle kiss had such an immediate effect on her. When he pulled away she saw the same attraction in his eyes and felt her own self blushing.

His comment made her grin."Can I have a signed contract that you will do just that?" she asked, grinning broadly.

She looked so adorable when she blushed, and at her question he spoke mock-seriously.

"In triplicate if you want, though I'm no good with paperwork."

He grinned and stood up, pulling her gently with him as well as he spoke.

"You gonna drive this time?"

Erin laughed softly and then stood as he helped her up."Yeah I think if you wanna go back, we should get my truck. Where we are going can sometimes get a bit muddy on the drive their" she said.

As they walked Erin linked her arm with Mikes, not willing to lose the closeness they had established before. She couldn't believe her luck in meeting this man. She would have to remember to thank Nikki in the morning.

Oddly enough, he was thinking the same thing as she cuddled close to him. Enjoying the feel of her against him and noticing with appreciation the silk dress that she wore, which in the wind left little to the imagination.

Mentally, he made a note to send her friend flowers as a thank you for the black eye, and all it lead up to.

And as they got into the car, he would wonder briefly where she would be taking him....Other then her cryptic words concerning mud, he had no idea otherwise. But he could wait.

Erin shivered slightly as the wind whipped against her dress. She moved closer to Mike, drawing in his body heat. They made it to the car and Mike helped Erin into the passenger seat.

Soon he was behind the week and headed back towards the station. Erin held on to his hand as they drove. Once at the station she pointed out her GMC Sierra parked on the side of the road. They parked his car and headed towards her truck. This time she climbed behind the wheel. She started up the truck and pulled out onto the streets.

"So, did I mention my family owns a large farm right outside of town limits?" she said with a smirk."There's this gorgeous lookout point, feels like you can touch the stars.from there". She glanced over at him, gauging his reaction.

He smiled at the thought and spoke.

"That sounds wonderful. As a kid, I used to camp all the time and that was always a favorite part of my memories. Sleeping under the stars...."

He hesitated then chuckled.

"Its gonna be cold though. You have a jacket or something you could wear? Otherwise, we may have to share body warmth the whole time."

He smiled at that, his hand noticeably not leaving hers the entire time.

Erin smiled."we used to camp a lot too, I miss it." she said quietly."I don't have a coat... I wasn't planning on bein outside. Do you think you are up to the task of keeping me warm?".

By that time they were almost to her family's property. Instead of turning into the main lane she turned into the back one and headed towards the back of the property. It was another two or three miles before they got there. The path wasn't too muddy at all and the truck made it easoly. Erin placed the truck in park and shut it off, bathing the surrounding area in darkness. She smiled and leaned over to press a light kiss to Mike's lips.

"Ready to look at some stars?" she asked.

That light kiss of hers sparked more of his hunger for her he didn't know he had. And still keeping with his mood, and lucky that the darkness his his blush he joked quietly.

"You had me at hello."

But looking outside at the sky, he couldn't help but smile and after a moment, he would look back at Erin, hand still linked with hers as he lifted it to his hands and kissed her knuckles gently.

"Magnificent....Thank you for showing me this."

He couldn't recall the last time he did something as simple as this.

Erin smiled as he kissed her knuckles. She then motioned towards the back of the truck then."I do have a blanket behind my seat, if ya wanna get out" she said softly, hoping he would agree."I promise its even prettier outside" she said grinning, hoping to persuade him.

He smiled at that and spoke.

"Mmmm, sounds lovely. Just one sec though."

And releasing her hand with a sense of loss, he would remove his equipment such as his gun holster and club, placing them off into the glove compartment as he then glanced at her and smiled.

"Shall we?"

Erin watched as Mike removed his gun and club. He gave off such a feeling of raw, virile masculinity but Erin didn't think he even realized it. he asked if she was ready and she nodded. They both got out of the truck, Erin leaning the seat forward and grabbing two blankets. She shivered a bit in the cold air as she made her way to the back of the truck where Mike was waiting.

Mike lowered the tailgate, reading her mind. Then he helped her up into the back of it and followed behind her. Together they spread on the bed of the truck. Erin glanced at Mike."Wanna get comfortable?" she asked.

He smiled and in response, embraced her in the back of that truck as they lay down. Encouraging her to use him for warmth, even as his hand began to rub slowly up and down her back. Her thin silk dress feeling wonderful against his fingers as her body pressed against his, causing him to feel like he was back in high school all over again before he kissed her forehead gently.

"Hows this?"

His other hand would be pulling the blanket over them.

Erin snuggled up close to Mike, drawing in his warmth. She had her head laying on his chest and her hands wrapped around his lean waist. She inhaled his scent and sighed softly.

"This is perfect. I dunno what it is about you, Mike, but I really really like you" she said softly, blushing as she said it and glad that the darkness hid her blush.

He would glance down at her in the dark, arm wrapped around her and feeling more alive with Erin then he ever had before previously with any other woman. His hand which was still rubbing her back would press on her, bringing her slightly closer to him. In the dark, the loss of conventional sight would heighten his other senses. The feel of her body against his, her scent the warmth of her voice.

Barely a few hours he had met her, and already he was beginning to love this woman. He wondered what his family would think of her....

Aloud, he would say the following.

"It was a good day for me I should think, when your friend gave me that shiner. Remind me to send her flowers."

And leaning forward, he would press his lips against hers in the dark. A re-play of the chaste kiss they had back in the bar as with his other hand, he stroked Erin's cheek gently, tracing down to her neck and enjoying the soft, warm feel that was her skin.

Erin felt like she was in heaven. She had never felt like she belonged somewhere so much. Nothing had ever felt so right as laying there wrapped in his arms. His kisses were always short and so sweet it made her ache with longing.

Erin smiled at his comment."You wanna send Nikki flowers for punching you?" she said, laughing and shaking her head."That's probably the first time that'll ever happen".

Just then Erin saw a shooting star."What should I wish for?" she asked.

Watching it fly across the sky, he smiled and spoke sincerely.

"Whatever you like Erin.....Me, I have all I want right here."

He cuddled her close to him, inhaling her scent again before a stray thought struck him.

"Can I ask you a question? You doing anything on Saturday?"

Erin did make a silent wish. she wished that this wasnt too good to be true. She wished that Mike was feeling the same for her as she was for him.

He then asked if he could ask her a question, and what she was doing on Saturday. She shook her head."I don't have any plans at all" she said smiling against his chest."What's up?"

He paused, momentarily tongue-tied before he took the plunge and spoke.

"I was wondering if....Well, my family is having a reunion on Saturday and...Would you like to come as my date?"

He waited with bated breath, crossing his fingers mentally. He really wanted to introduce her to his family. For one, his mother would just love her. He knew it. Also, he knew then and there that he wanted to see her again. Many times over, and in-

He stopped that last train of thought with a blush.

"I... your... family?" Erin stuttered, her heart racing. She had imagined him asking her on a date, but to meet his family? That was like... a big thing... or at least, in her family it was. She had only brought one boy home before and that was in high school.

She sat up a bit and looked down at Mike.

"You wanna introduce me to your family?" she asked softly, her eyes questioning. "Don't get me wrong... I'd love to. I will, definitely. I'm just surprised is all" she said quickly.
