Well my team the Penguins traded Jaromir Jagr to rivals Washington Capitals today. I'm sad to see Jagr go...he had a good 11 years with Pittsburgh. I was hoping that he would finish his career here, but it was not to be. Come to think of it, Jagr did really well during the regular season this year, but he kind of fizzled out in the playoffs. Oh well. I guess there is only one good thing to come out of this trade:

AT LEAST HE DIDN'T GO TO PHILADELPHIA!!!!!!

I love Jaromir

He can park his skates under my bed anytime and use his stick handling ability...........well...I am sure you can imagine!

Seriously though, weren't Jagr and LeMieux at odds this year?

Forget Jagr....Hasek has joined the Wings! I see another Stanley Cup on the horizon. :D

I'd like the trade better if I knew any of the guys they got. Three good young guys, but how good? The one kid is a potential star, but is that all you get for the best player in the game? He really hurt his trade value with his play in the playoffs.

It's funny, you kept hearing rumors of who the Pens might get for Jagr, ridiculous rumors, and then they get 3 minor leaguers. Hopefully these guys can help this year.

I think the Pens get like $5million cash over two years, too, which is nice.

yeah I agree with you Christo. I haven't heard of any of the tradees either. I don't really follow hockey enough to recognize the not famous players, but come on.....3 rookies for the best NHL player....give me a break.

May I just add how pissed I am at the Stars. I can't believe they let JR slip away. Argh....

Big deal

While I like Jaromir Jagr, I'm afraid he's like all European players. They play great during the regular season but come crunch time, when those who really want Lord Stanley's mug come to the fore, they all disappear.

If you really want to win the Cup, you better get Canadians or you're going home empty-handed!

Ohhhh ta Jessica.

Is Super Mario playing again next year.... he better be or Pittsburgh are REALLY in the shit

Yeah, Mario is still there. He owns the team, so he's not leaving. He had to get rid of Jaomir because his salary alone was one third of their budget. Wonder who will be on his line instead.

Checking is legal, you know!!!

Pittsburgh may be in it anyway because this coming season someone may decide to actually check "Super" Mario instead of letting that wuss skate all over the ice without anyone putting so much as a glove on the whiney wimp!

I know about the money part, but I think it is a shame that Jaromir Jagr forgets who taught him everything he knows and made him where he is today.............I too would have liked to see him run out the rest of his caree here in the Burgh.

A real-life Caps Fan

I've been following the caps since the pre-Rod Langway days, and I have never been as excited about an offseason move as I am about this one. Fear not Quins fans the players you picked up should all regular contributors to the team in the next couple years. In fact, all three may become stars, especially Sivek, who can flat out play.

That being said, Kolzig, Bondra, Linden, Gonchar, Konowalchuk, Halpern, and JAGR, will spell trouble for the rest of Eastern Confernce - just remains to be seen if the Caps can actually win at least one game in their Finals rematch with the Wings.

Hey dza...the Caps have to get past the Penguins first. The Pens have beat the Caps 6 out of the last 7 times in the playoffs from 1991. I can definitely see Kasparitis taking Jagr out right at center ice......

How the Leafs couldn't have put together a more attractive package than that I'll never know.

Oh well. We got Mogilny. We'll probably get Lindros.

And AD resigned. Everything's coming up Weevil!!!
