This is the place where I'll be posting ideas for my wedding.

Please, PLEASE feel free to add your own ideas or thoughts that you think will work for the wedding.

It's in 9 months- August 30.

Red, absolutely.

I look horrible in white, and I've always loved the idea of the red wedding dress.
 
This is the plan:

Location:

*CEREMONY- this little cliff overlooking the ocean. About 13 people at the ceremony.

*RECEPTION- in a friend's backyard, a big family barbeque

Dress:

*BRIDE- red. Poofy. Big.

*BRIDESMAIDS- something black, it's up to them.

Shoes:

*BRIDE- barefeet, with mendhi on my feet.
*BRIDESMAIDS- whatever they like.

Suits:

*GROOM- something black, with red accents
*GROOMSMEN- similar

Flowers:

*BRIDE ONLY - haven't decided yet.
*GROOM- boutenier

Invitations:

*Hand-making, I think.

I know I'm missing things, but I'm just trying to gather thoughts.

for some reason, I can't seem to get those links to load.
 
If you are planning on a red dress, I'd avoid red flowers. The two different red shades together don't quite pop in pictures.

I really really liked the bouquet with the red berries in it that you posted.

ETA: woops, maybe they weren't berries, but its pretty!!
 
I think the one shouldered dress is absolutely gorgeous, with the white flowers and red buds. You may not look good in white, but should have a little white to show the purity of your love for him; as you go into the marriage.

And congratulations again.

I'm back and forth about the red bouquet. I wanted to do white, but then I considered doing something dramatic like red anthuriums, or something.

I'm not a big believer in white=purity. White, to me, = clinical. Stark. Drab.

I've never liked it- I've always chosen passionate, vibrant, messy colours.

But white against that brilliant red? That would be a vibrant splash of colour, considering the basis is going to be in red. Or even a very pale yellow, with the buds in it.
 
Yay! A thread where we can live vicariously through the excitement of someone else :D

I love weddings and wedding planning .... no matter how old I grow I'll always have a 16 year olds romanticism of a wedding.

pale yellow might be nice... or even white Anthuriums.
