Job decision

Well, I have made my decision. Since I have not heard back from the hospital and the manager's position was offered to me, I accepted. I went to a pharmacy manager's meeting yesterday and was given the offer as well as information on how some of the things at work are going to be improved. I am going to give it a try and if it doesn't work out, then I will look at the hospital again.

My wife is feeling a little better. We haven't heard back from her doctor yet, but the pain is easing up. She was able to play board games with two granddaughters who came over for a slumber party last night. The two girls had a great time, especially when they got to sleep on the floor with their aunt and grandmother. I slept in the bed. She also felt good enough to go the the Maundy Thursday service and sing in the choir. It looks like we are going to get to have a good Easter. I was supposed to work Sunday, but a Muslin pharmacist offered to work for me. She really made my day today.

lmjo-- How are you and your wife doing? Did you get good news at Mayo? Are they going to be able to help her? I hope that both of you also have a very good Easter. Take care of yourself and your wife.

glad to hear your wife is feeling better!! hopefully she will get good news from the dr! congradulations on your new job i am sure yu will do a good job!! and yes we did get some good news at Mayo's, they found the problem and did some minor surgery to correct it, but we may have to go back a couple more times for the surgery again, but its not a big deal!! my knee is doing fine, i am trying to get back to working on weekends and evenings, tkae care have a great weekend!!

Congratulations on your job. I know that you will make it a good place to be for the employees. I am very happy that your wife is feeling well enough to do the things that matter most like being able to do things with grandchildren (what I wouldn't give to be with my granddaughter in Denver so much more often!)

I will most likely be spending part of this weekend burning a new CD for my granddaughter. I like to talk to her on it and read her stories. My daughter says that they mostly play it when they are in the car with her on the road because my voice is soothing to her. I just want her to be familiar with my voice so when I do get to see her again, she will know who I am! (Plus she will have my voice long after I am gone).

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Ljmo}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}Life is too short with the family to let those same buttons get pushed over and over. Looking back, I see that especially with my Dad. He always knew how to push my buttons. It was only in the last year he was alive after Mom passed that he became vulnerable enough to say what he meant instead of saying things that he knew would get a fight going so he could get some attention. I'm glad that we had that time together for "real" conversation.

I had a nice, quiet weekend but heard from my kids and will start getting to see my Grandson play t-ball on Saturdays starting this weekend. I am really looking forward to that.

Monday was busy as usual but got through it. I am praying for good weather this Saturday. Last Saturday, we got so much rain, it set a record for that day. (Easter tied the record).

Good week

Hi, Jacqline, I hope that you had a good week and that things picked up for you. I know how tough it can be when things get slow. We had a very slow week at work also. That was a very good thing yesterday, though. As I was getting ready to go to lunch, I was asked to step into the back room where I found a cake, two pizza, potato wedges, buffalo wings, and fruit trays. It was a celebration form my promotion. It came as a complete surprise. It made me feel so special, but not nearly as special as the card that they gave me. The things that they wrote in the card was were just like you would read when somebody is leaving a job. I got to read all these good things that they had to say and still be there to work with them. Today was another good day. The weather was in he 80s and I got a chance to get some yard work done. Tomorrow, we have tickets to see Miss Saigon at the local music theater. I hope that you are having as good a week-end as we are. How was your grandson's T-ball game today? How is your voice? I always had a problem yelling too loud and too much at our kids' games.

{{{{{{{{{{{Bob}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}I am glad that they gave you the party showing you how much they all care. I know you are the same way with them as you are with us.

I had a wonderful time at the game watching Devon. He is a really good hitter. In fact, he hit the very first ball thrown to him (the coaches pitch to them) and I caught it on my digital camera. He hit well every time and has a great throwing arm. I was very impressed with him. I also got some good talking time in with my son. It was a good day.

Last night after work, I went to a Junior High production of "The Music Man". One of our newest patients was singing one of the songs last week in the office and I commented to him that I knew what musical it was from and he was shocked. He invited me to come watch him perform and I told him I would love to. (My Dad took me to see it performed live in Seattle with Robert Preston in the lead when I was a young girl). He was so happy to see me after the performance that he ran up to me and hugged me and thanked me at least three times for coming to watch him. I love live theatre and they really did a great job!

It hasn't been slow at work, it has been low production numbers. We have been working very long and hard for things that aren't producing profit. We need more crowns and bridges, dentures and partials to do. Dr. participates in capitation plans that we make NOTHING on. We need to get rid of them so we have a chance. I have been there 10-12 hours a day working on trying to get things the way they need to be. In the meantime, I have had to deal with a lot of calls that take me away from that. Dr. let go of the part time person that did the billing and statements. This puts even more on my plate.

I started going to a naturepath/acupuncturist to see if she can help me with the stress. With the diabetes, I need to be balanced.

everyone had a great weekend, of course i worked both days but got alot done on the house, more than i expected so thats good, maybe in a couple more weekends i will have the outside complete!!! i got released for the knee dr today so i can go back to work as normal!!! little did he know what all i have done, the Mrs seems to be getting a little more energy each day so the trip to Mayo's seems at this point to be very postive!! take care!! ans Jacqline as always hugs for yu!!

Thank you both so much for your prayers. I met with my boss 1/2 hour early today. She smiled at me and asked what I thought about things. I told her that the stress has been so high on me that I got on the scale and found out that 10 pounds melted off of me in the last two weeks. Ordinarily I would be pleased to lose it, but not in that manner (especially with diabetes).

I made it clear how much I want her practice to succeed and how dedicated I am to making that happen, but I am not capable of doing this job alone. I am used to working with another person to bounce things off of and to share the phones and workload. It has gotten to be too much for me.

She then asked me that if I got to do what I wanted to do there, what would that be? I told her that I would love to still be involved with patients in some way, but I would LOVE to market the practice. I would thrive on target marketing to the patients we already have and to also go to retirement homes, etc. and market her special program. I would write her newsletter for the practice.

I would love to sell her program to small business so they could have some kind of dental insurance for their families. The possibilities are endless. I hope that there are enough things I could do to make this a full time job. She told me to map it out over the weekend and make my job description and we could get together on it Monday. She will then put an ad in the paper for someone who loves the stress of the position I have been working so they can take over what I have been doing.

So you see, my dear friends. your prayers have indeed helped me beyond my wildest dreams. How many people get to stay with the employer that they absolutely love and then get to tell them what kinds of things you want to do for them? I told her how dedicated I was to her and she told me she knew it. She told me she loved me and I told her the same. It is like we have shared lifetimes together. (She knew how dedicated I was to her because I worked SEVERAL hours overtime a week and never complained on a salary wage without being asked because the work needed to be done.)

She eventually wants to travel and get a good Dr. in the clinic to take over for her and I am sure she wants someone to watch over things for her. I have a feeling she may have me in mind for that. This lady has so many talents that more of the world needs to be aware of her. I am truly blessed.

I am so happy for you. Earlier, I was feeling badly because of you impending "doom", and my wife's problems. We didn't get to have our meeting yesterday but I went ahead and gave her all the stuff I had written out. She didn't get to work until late and we actually had a day that we hit our goal and didn't get out of there until late.
