Thank you for the support. I will be calling the hospital on Monday. The benefits between the two positions are getting closer. We had a conference call this morning and were told what I have said for years. I could have saved them the cost of the study. They found that the more technical people were not able to do their jobs because they were having to do more basic chores. So now they are going to give us a cashier to free us up to do our jobs. I will have to ask check more about the possibility of doing more diabetic care where I am also. They have been talking about it for over a year, now.

Jacqline, I did not know that you had diabetes. You know that I am here for you if you need any kind of help with diabetes or anything else. You have given me so much help and I would like to do the same for you. After all, that is what friends and family do for each other.

She said that she dealt with it all day long and I should discuss things with my Dr. It really hurt me. I understand that doctors get approached by friends asking questions but I thought it would be ok since I am her mother. I never brought it up again.

This is more so when the family is living in one house and then the whole family needs to know the limitations that the person with diabetes faces. The whole family may end up living a better life since the diet for diabetes is really the best diet for all of us. It is just a question of portion size. I realize how hard life can be for people with diabetes (please note: person with diabetes, not a diabetic) and I want to Help anybody that I can whenever I can. I have always been there for my mother, sister, wife, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother, co-workers, friends at church and members of our family camp. All they have to do is call or stop me. I feel that family and friends need to support each other. I have to be careful, for legal and liability reasons, about what and where I talk to my clientelle. I would think that you should be able to at least talk to your daughter about your feelings about diabetes. I would also think that she would be happy to even give you any technical help that you need. Dosing of your medication may be a different story, though. I stay away from that unless I can talk to the attending physician. As I said before, I am here for your support because that is very important.

I hope that our surgery went well and that you are home like you expected. I am also praying for a fast recovery. Do you have help from some type of support group, like your church, that can help you and your wife with meals and some daily activities? It is so hard when both of you are laid up. I don't know what we would have done so many times if it had not been for our friends at church. Take care of yourself.

Thank you, Bob. That is what I think, too. I never asked her questions that would interfere with my treatment. It hurt me a lot to tell the truth. I could have shared this with Mom if she were still alive but she is not. Thanks for the offer. I will ask you questions when they come up. You are a good friend.

I am glad that things are ok for you. Please do what it takes to get healed! Maybe it is just God's way of slowing you down and taking things slow for a while. You work so hard and so many long hours. Please take good care of yourself and know that we are all here for you.

I know that it is important to work on the house, but if you work on it too soon, the healing process will take SO much longer. Give your body the chance to heal! These injuries seem to happen to force us to slow down when we don't have the sense to ourselves!

ljmo, how is your wife doing and what did you find out at Mayo? I am praying for both of you.

I took my wife to her doctor today and received mixed news. She went in for an angiogram and for an abdominal arterial run-off, which didn't show very much. So the doctor decided to do a CAT scan, which showed that her original AV Malformation was growing even though it had no blood flowing through it. He hadn't seen it before, but had read about it. For two years we have been told that we should not let anybody try to remove it. Now, he says that it may have to come out. He will let us know what he decides in a day or two. If it is left alone, it will continue to get bigger and cause more pain that cannot be treated. However, if it is removed, the femoral nerve and the lymphatic system can be damaged and cause more pain and painful swelling. Her doctor is stumped. He said that if all of his patients were like my wife, he would quit. He is going to confer with her specialist in Denver and a vascular surgeon before he makes his recommendation.

I am still waiting to hear from the hospital and from my job. The hospital pharmacy director said that things were looking good, but still did not make an offer. I could get a call any day. I have joined my daughter in the waiting game. She has been told that her contract with her school district was not going to be renewed, so she is applying at other school districts.

Well, I am going to go to bed and see how things go tomorrow.

I am sorry to hear that things are so complicated. I know this may sound a bit strange, but have you ever considered faith healers? Some incredible things have been done using people as God's instruments to heal others. This is just a thought to throw out there. I know everything else is scary and unknown.

Energy is a thing we don't know a lot about. After my car accident, cranial sacral treatments were the one thing that started giving me relief from my constant TERRIBLE headaches. It was done strictly with energy. She never touched my head. Thank goodness that natural medicine is being used more and more in conjunction with scientific medicine. It is how it should be. I really would look into energy healing if I were you. There are some amazing examples out there.

Thanks for the hugs. I really need them. Business has been really slow this week and I need it to pick up immediately. We all need to be busy so Dr. can pay our wages (and I can keep my job). Please send positive thoughts that $ come our way. Thank you.
